Canada won the World Hockey Championship today in Moscow. Beat Finland 4-2 and went 9-0 in the tournament. First time we've run the table in that tourney in 70 years. All the young kids were playing--Toews, the Staal Brothers and Rick Nash who was MVP of the tournament. Average age of Team Canada was 25.

Next year, for the first time, it will be held outside Europe--in Halifax.

For those of you who don't know, the World Hockey Championship is the European Stanley Cup.

    Still our game.

Quote of the week is from the show CSI:

Speaking about a dominatrix and her customers: " Domination is a rich man's game. Like hockey. Lot's of equipment."

I hope Shane Doan brings the trophy home and personally shoves it right up Gilles Duceppe's ass.

Yes, JR Halifax is hosting it and I cannot wait. I am hoping to do some media work for it.

So glad Canada won and Double J, I agree that Shane Doan should do that.

On behalf of Canada I grin shyly, duck my head and say "Thanks".

CBC just interviewed Comrie and it got me thinking.

If you're an Oilers fan, you can't possibly be rooting for this puke to win the Stanley Cup. Nor can you cheer for Traitor Pronger's Ducks, or the Wings.

LET'S GO BUFFALO! Say it with me Beef!

    Buffalo is done.

They played worse than the Leafs and that's saying a lot.

For those of you who are interested, the Memorial Cup starts this Friday in Vancouver. Teams involved are Plymouth Whalers (OHL), Lewiston Maineiacs (QMJHL), Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) and Vancouver Giants (host).

As a prelude, the Western Hockey League finals Game 7 went to double-OT late Monday night, with players having to help dispel the fog that set in periodically during the overtime periods a la the 1975 Stanley Cup finals game between Buffalo and Philly.

Home-grown boy is the star of the show as goaltender for the home team and wins series MVP. Home team wins on a nice goal though both teams had oodles of chances to put it away.

    Mastercard Memorial Cup, please. :)

Next to the Stanley Cup, the most revered hockey championship in this country.

Tournament was started in memory of the Canadians who lost their lives in The Great War and now a bank card has naming rights.
