Were the Bruins or Blackhawks the last in the NHL to put ads on the boards?

They might as well eliminate the goalie. Let every team score 40 goals a game. That'll be fun! [/sarcasm]

Bettman should be forced to watch endless hours of tape of games from the 1980s (i.e Oilers, Islanders) to see what made the game great. Namely more room to move (too many refs, too many bigger players wearing too big equipment now) and smaller goalie pads.

    Another thing.

One of the reasons there were so many goals scored back in the 80's was because, with a few exceptions, goaltending was crappy as hell. You watch some of those old games and you wonder, how did those guys make JUNIOR hockey?

True JR. And, what about fewer teams? Which meant more talent on each team.

I like the way the game is right now, free-wheelin and whatnot, it just needs to get off of versus and onto ESPN so that there will be more highlights on sportscenter, there will be more access to games ... etc

Yeah and Leafs beat the "Canes last night 4-1. Good disciplined hockey and Raycroft didn't shit the bed.

    Rangers are dead. :)
