Here we go. Couple of BIG games tonight in the Atlantic Division: Sabres at Penguins and Senators at Devils.

Devils lead Pens by a point, and each have three to play. Pens have what looks to be a much tougher schedule and likely need to win out to win the division.

Devils have Senators, Flyers and Isles. Pens have Sabres, Senators and Rangers.

Also big games in the race for the final couple of playoff spots in the East:
Canes at Lightning, Flyers at Leafs, Rangers at Islanders (please, no f-ing 3-point game!) and Bruins at Habs.

My, God. Buffalo flat-out DOMINATED Pittsburgh tonight. Could have easily been 8-1 or 12-1. Pens went something like 0-for-543 on the PP.

Bad, bad night all around, with Sens and Devils tied in the 3rd.

  7. Buffalo played a sloppy game, Pittsburgh was just terrible on the power-play and their defensemen couldn't stand on their skates against the shifty Sabres. Evgeni Malkin played a typical 'off-my-game' for a Russian superstar, you know what I mean if you've seen Sergei Fedorov over the years.

Crosby wasn't struggling because Buffalo refused to allow him any time and space.

This is a different game if Pens don't blow their PP chances.

Doubie stood on his head on the Island tonight, pretty much single-handedly beating the Rangers 3-2 in the shootout. Rangers need to beat either Montreal (on Thursday at The Garden) or Pittsburgh (Saturday, at the Igloo) to clinch a playoff berth. The Isles need to win out and hope they get some help.

So the Hurricanes officially have been eliminated and, for the first time in NHL history, both teams that played for the Stanley Cup won't even be around for the playoffs.

But the Leafs are still hanging in.

I wish I was in Toronto Saturday night. Habs-Leafs, with both teams battling for a playoff spot? Should be phenominal.

Actually, with the Canes eliminated, I would love for the Leafs to do well because I like Mo.
