Mad, you mean you can't get the FAN590 and listen to "Stormin' Norman" Rumack?

    The Leafs/Sabres game was a non-event.

    Agreed.

It's about time this city/area got excited again for the playoffs. It's been waaaaaaaay too long.

And the Oscar for the "Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role" goes to .....Mike Ricci.

    http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/Co...ll_pageid=968867495754&call_pagepath=A&E/News

It's a biopic on Rocket Richard and Mike Ricci plays linemate Elmer Lach.

Other NHL players including Sean Avery are in the pic

Vincent Lecavalier of the Tampa Bay Lightning also appears in the film, playing the great Montreal star Jean Beliveau — and he looks shockingly like him. Lecavalier, whose dad was a huge Beliveau fan, wears the same No. 4 with Tampa.

Mathieu Dandenault of the Montreal Canadiens, Ian Laperriere of the Colorado Avalanche and retired NHLer Stephane Quintal also have roles in the film. .

Lots of ads for it up here--release date is this Friday, April 21.

I'm anxious to see Sean Avery, who plays failed New York Rangers enforcer Bob Dill, get beat up by a French guy, even if it is only acting.

I'm looking forward to this pic.

The only hockey autograph I have (or need) is The Rocket's which I got when I was 12. He was the guest speaker at the Burlington Minor Hockey banquet and my buddy's old man was President. I met him after school in my friend's living room.

God had nothing on the Rocket.

When I think of the Rocket, this comes to mind:

"Today I still leave a touch of grey. The wife likes it."

"Hey, Richard, two minutes for looking so good!"

    Grecian Formula. Loved that commercial.

I guess he did the commercials because he actually needed the money.

A shame, when you think about all the legends the Habs just threw away. Sure, they gave Toe Blake and Jean Beliveau jobs for life but their record when it comes to guys like the Rocket, Boom Boom Geoffrion and Doug Harvey is just terrible.

It makes the Leafs, who've also abused plenty of former stars, look good by comparison.

Housecleaning has begun at the Air Canada Centre. Pat Quinn has been fired. This just moved on the wire:

TORONTO (CP) — The Pat Quinn era is over in Toronto.
The Maple Leafs have fired their head coach and his longtime assistant Rick Ley.
The team will make the official announcement at a 1 p.m. ET news conference.
The 63-year-old Quinn still had another year on his contract.
He leaves after seven seasons behind the Toronto bench.
The team finished with a 41-33-8 record this season but missed the playoffs for the first time under Quinn’s leadership.
Quinn has never won a Stanley Cup in his 19-year coaching career, although he led the 1980 Philadelphia Flyers and ’94 Canucks to the final.
He also coached Team Canada to Olympic gold in 2002 and the World Cup of Hockey championship in 2004.

The end of an era, period. Is there a family in hockey history that's done more for the sport than the Patricks? I doubt it.
