As I recall, it's how you choose up sides for road hockey.

You throw them in one pile, then what?

When I was a kid, the two captains took turns grabbing sticks out of the pile. Whoever's stick you grabbed was on your team. But we're talking veeeeery long term memory here. JR? Huggy? Where are you guys when you're needed?

Makes sense. Figured it was something like that.

    Great commercial too.

    Yup.

Do it for games of shinny as well.

Prevents one captain from stacking the team.

This did fall into the NHL playoff thread, so I thought I would revive this old one.
Has anybody seen any highlights or video from this?

Sounds like that historic rivalry between Italy and the Ukraine finally boiled over last night at the World Hockey Championships ...

It was just posted an hour ago. The clips will probably be on TSN/Sportsnet/The Score tonight.

Speaking of the World Hockey Championship, Canada beat the U.S yesterday on Shanahan's goal.

Tomorrow we play Latvia. Apparently the Latvian home crowd will be absolutely deafening.

The kids are playing all right, particularly Crosby & Bergeron.

They have looked pretty solid, and from what I can tell in the very few highlights I have seen Auld has looked steady in net.

Is Irbe playing for Latvia? If so I would be careful not to be too over confident, even if I have a Maple Leaf on my chest. The guy has been known to steal a game or three completely on his own.
