The Leafs should go after Manny Legace. He'll give them a fine regular season and when he doesn't come through in the playoffs he'll be right at home.

Driving around town yesterday I spied this Maple Leafs fan.

I wonder if it's Doug Gilmour still bitching and moaning about '93.

Yes. Yes I was. I tried waving my Kings banner, but you didn't see me.

Curious license plate. 1986 isn't a significant year in Leafland.

    1985-86 25 48 7   57 4th ... now that is one banner season!

But to be fair, this was the LA Kings in 1985-86:
    1985-86 23 49 8   54 5th — no playoffs. Damn Pat Quinn.

I think it's just a number.  While most of the Leafs vanity plates have "ML" as the middle two characters, I've seen some with a "TO" in there also.  I believe the "19" and the "86" are just random numbers, that just happen to look like a year.

It probably means a fan who was 19 in 1967 will have to wait until they're 86 before they see another Cup in Toronto.

Oh come on, they are going to be waiting much longer than that.

And if the Oilers are to be dismantled as rumoured, how long until they make it this far again? Nineteen-ninety is getting further away all the time. :)

Messing with the chemistry of the team is probably the biggest thing. I firmly believe that's what happened to the Flames this year by taking Craig Conroy out of the equation.

And the silly season has begun -- big trade looming between Vancouver and Florida. Roberto Luongo and Todd Bertuzzi are the main names involved.
