Probably going to laugh at me here-

Is it easier to get a higher paying newspaper job covering hockey in canada?

Not to be a nit picking asshole, but isn't the OHL considered Major Junior as is the WHL and the QMJHL? Or do they like to confuse even this out there? Junior A hockey out here is the Canadian Junior A Hockey League and the 10 leagues that fall under its umbrella (the BCHL, AJHL, SJHL, MJHL, SIJHL, NOJHL, the OPJHL, the CJHL, LHJAAAQ, and the MJAHL)

They pay in pelts up there.

Comes in handy in the winter though.

Yes. But many people still call it Junior A and refer to the other brand of Junior A as Tier II. In Ontario, there are very few differences between Tier II and Junior B. From a competitive standpoint, there is pretty much no difference at all.

Agreed. Tier Two is Junior B with pretensions.

Wings sign Greg Johnson for a second go-around. What is it, they have a reunion scheduled at Joe Louis Arena in a few months?

I see. That's where my confusion came in. The difference between Jr. B and Jr. A out here is night and day. Huge difference in calibre.

    Hell, there's a Junior D league here.

Yes, and it has changed its name to the Southern Ontario Junior Hockey League to eliminate the stigma of being a Junior D league surrounded by B and C leagues. They already tried calling it "Junior Development" but that didn't work.

Two of the three B leagues in southern Ontario -- the Western and Mid-Western loops -- have also dropped "B" from their names and the Western league isn't calling itself "junior" at all. It's now just the Western Ontario Hockey League.

You know, it might soon get to the point where the various levels of junior hockey in Ontario become indistinguishable. And I'm not necessarily sure that would be a bad thing.

Hinske got traded to Boston. Oh, whoops, that's the other sport. :)

I don't know but I'd guess that once you drop below Major Junior, the talent pool is pretty much the same in Junior, B, C, or D.
