And it looks like there's another book on The Baby Jesus by Shawna Richer who stalked covered Sid's every move for the Globe last year.

And now I know what our good friend Jones has been doing in his spare time.

Whoring himself out writing blurbs for colleagues' books.

Sidney Crosby was never going to be just another hockey player, and The Rookie isn't just another hockey book. Thanks to Shawna Richer's terrific eyes and ears — as well as her deft touch around a keyboard — we're treated to an insider's view not only of one of the game's future stars, but of the game itself. And from here, both look pretty damn good."— Chris Jones, Esquire Magazine

Come home, Chris, all is forgiven.

I would love to see Kansas City with a team -- just not this one.

I'm starting to think the Penguins might be OK. I know they still have some defensive questions, but it's great to see so much talent signing with the team. Nowhere to go but up.

Few teams have a better future. Sure there are some holes, thata's why it's all about the future.

Kansas City Penguins? Nah. Kansas City Scouts? Been there, done that. Kansas City Whitlocks? Now you're talking.

If they move, I bet the league puts another franchise in Toronto.

How bout they put one in Minneapolis! ;D

Clarke and Harry Sinden are living proof that three decades worth of uselessness is no hindrance to making a comfortable living in hockey and not having to answer for it.

Canucks' Naslund to Flyers for Gagne? Straight up? Vancouver would be foolish to do this ...

Earlier this week, I read a column that suggested a Gagne and Esche to Anaheim for Giguere deal. It makes sense from the Ducks point of view; they just signed Bryzgalov to a two year deal, and he should be the No. 1 coming out of camp.

Talked to the GM the other day. He said he's content with the two goalies, despite many people saying it's an issue. But I agree on trade winds coming from Anaheim. The Ducks are Stanley Cup contenders this year and Burke is showing already in one-plus season that he's a guy the Ducks need as they completely divorce themselves from the conservative Disney ownership to a more focused, more business-oriented model. Gagne would be a solid addition and would more than make up for what they lost by putting Lupul in the Pronger deal.

I don't know that that makes much sense for the Flyers though. Giguere's a UFA after this season and while he might be a bit of an upgrade over Esche, is it worth giving up Gagne for?

As much as I hate Bobby Clarke, I think Sauve and Gagne are being a bit foolish here. Essentially they are holding out because they feel he was underpaid in past years, forget what they are offering him now as fair compensation. If Gagne thought he was not be being fairly compensated previously, why then did he agree to those contracts?
