    You should wait.

Apparently the definitive book on the Baby Jesus is coming out next year by a Ms. Richer of The Globe & Mail.

Mr. Miler may disagree however.  ;D

Cool ... if you're really looking to save a buck or two, there are some $10.29 promos at the ESA (er, RBC Center ... this is a recording) still being promoted.

As for playoff prices, I'd be a bit worried. If Carolina duplicates what it did four years ago, watch out. That place was loud (yes, I'm a fanboy looser, too, but you'll just have to take my word for it).

The Triangle is starting to get it. Of course, Carolina's blazing-hot start has undoubtedly won a few more casual converts.

P.S.: Bring sleeping bags ... I'll find somewhere for ya, but those five-star, single accomodations aren't happening on my salary. ;D

    Hmm....a SportsJournalists.com hockey road trip. I'm in.

It's what....a 16 hour drive from Toronto to wherever the hell the Canes play?

And tickets would be, what, 40 bucks?

I went with a group to Toronto from my hometown - about an hour SE of Raleigh - and it took almost 24 hours nonstop. Surely it wouldn't take a couple of hardy, healthy souls in a passenger vehicle that long, but if it tells you anything, I took a trip to Syracuse from my hometown and got there in 14 hours with one meal break.

See above for tickets. The upper-deck tickets are very reasonable, but $40 won't get you anything club level and forget about lower bowl on a budget ...

    Mr Beat,

Go with the hardcover. It wraps better.

    YHS, etc

    And Mr R,

I'm sure that Shawna's book will be good--I just wonder how you balance blog, beat and book on the tongue of a kid who does all his talking on the ice.

    Available in better bookstores, etc

Almost 24 hours from Raleigh to TO? We drove from here to the draft in '04 in a little over 12....

I think the Canucks here could use a little hockey road trip. Raleigh might be fun.

    Guys only. :)

Chicks can come if they can pass the Hoser Hockey Quizz. :)

Question #1: Who was the first Leaf to score 40 goals?

Does your team need a speedy centerman? Todd Marchant can be yours!

Speaking of speedy, the Detroit/Oilers game last night was '80's style hockey.

Detroit goes up 3-1 in the second.

Oilers score 4 in a row to make it 5-3 but Detroit came back and tied the game up with 2 minutes left.

Oilers scored 33 seconds into OT.

It was kinda like one of those "Last goal wins" road hockey games.

If it had been "80's style hockey," there would have been at least one good brawl. That's what made the 80s great in the NHL -- you got end-to-end offense AND a few good fights a night.

At least that's how we rolled in the Patrick Division. Boo-ya!
