    Mr. Miler,

There's no chance for Renney to coach Canada's Boys/Men's WJC and World cup teams?

    Thanking you profusely...

    Sir,

Calling Renney "sensitive" is like calling a Sutter "fey."

For a NHL coach, it's not an insult. It's an incitement.

    YHS, etc

Jimmy Howard is looking pretty good so far. Two games played, 1-1 now. Has made some big saves and kept his team in the game. Also 1-for-2 in stopping a penalty shot.

The Wings played flat tonight. Howard kept them in the game. Especially on that 3-minute 5-on-3.

They weren't flat for the first period, going up 2-0.

Having to kill four penalties in the second period took the wind out of the sails.

Yeah they took an early lead, but they didn't even get a shot on goal on their 1st period 5-on-3.

fwiw, Howard was absolutely unbelievable in college. Backstopped the 2003 Hockey East final, making at least two dozen highlight-reel saves in the process. Best game I've ever seen, he was a big part.

While I never saw Howard play before this season, you are not the first one I've heard/read who had rave reviews about this kid. And having seen what I have of him, I'm very excited about the future of Red Wing goaltending.

Mike Keenan is at it again. Today, he traded LW Kristian Huselius to the Calgary Flames for D Steve Montador & C Dustin Johner. From all accounts, Keenan wasn't a Huselius fan. With Montador in the Panthers' fold, Jay Bouwmeester may be the next to leave South Beach. And what about Roberto Luongo?
