If Keenan makes that trade, Panthers' ownership should fire him. That would be Keenan's worst trade ever, and he made some doozies when he was Dictator-For-Life with the Blues.

    Luongo for Cloutier?

That's like trading Befour for Esche.

If Keenan were to do that, it would immediately make the Canucks the favorites to win the Cup.

Seems like the right thing to do. They get to keep their 1-0 lead, which they earned, and everyone gets a full hockey game.

    HG,
As much as I hate to say it, I don't think anyone can beat the Sens.

Oh, the Leafs maybe in the 1st round. :)

Unfortunately, JR, the Leafs have to make the playoffs first. No guarantee that will happen, as much as I hate to say that. :-\

I think Tampa, Jersey, Atlanta and Boston will finish with better records than the Leafs.

    ----

Thornton debuted tonight for the San Jose Sharks, notching two assists in San Jose's 5-0 win over Buffalo.

January 10, 2006 should be an emotional night on Causeway Street. Joe Thornton's first game against the Bruins.

The canucks would be completley insane not to pull the trigger on this deal in a heartbeat. That said, hockey rumors get started by know-nothing radio guys and Maple Leaf people who think every other GM becomes incompetant when dealing with Toronto. I don't see this trade ever happening.

How is everyone's preseason predictions looking? Here was mine

Re: New NHL vs. the old NHL

    My newly educated predictions:
    West:
    1. Detroit- I thought age would catch up to them to an extent but their younger players have really stepped up.
    2. Dallas - I'm really surprised. I thought they were old and not very deep. Turco will push them over Vancouver down the stretch for the No.2 spot.
    3. Vancouver - Bertuzzi is no longer the player he once was and I wouldn't be shocked if he was traded for a change of scenery (a la Dany Heatly). I still don't think Cloutier is a playoff goalie.
    4. Nashville - I wasn't sold on them at the start of the year but I am now. I hope they don;t face the Wings in the playoffs.
    5. Calgary - I like the trade today. They picked up a good, young player who fits perfectly inot the mold of this team. Can still see Kipper being a 1-year wonder.
    6. Los Angeles - I know they're higher in the standings now, but their goaltending will begin to fall off, also they have to stay healthy.
    7. Edmonton - I still think this is a good team. They always play the Wings tough so I hate them!
    8. Colorado - They're better than I thought.

San Jose Sharks – I can't belive they're as bad as they are.
Columbus Blue Jackets – I'm dissappointed in this team. I thought they'd make a run at the playoffs.

    East
    1. Ottawa- they're the best in the league but I still question their playoff toughness. I'm not willing to say they're the Cup favorite. Yet.
    2. Philadelphia - This team is too good to stay behind the Rangers. They'll turn it on in the second half.
    3. Carolina - My biggest miss of the year. Thanks Eric Staal. Ass hole.
    4. Rangers - I hate them. This makes me sad.
    5. New Jersey - they just have to make the playoff. Then they'll be sacry because of Broduer.
    6. Tampa Bay - They'll benefit from they're divisional play as the season continues. As Atlanta, Florida and Washington have nothing to play for in Feburary, they rack up points.
    7. Montreal - The disappointment of other teams has opened the door for the Habs.
    8. Toronto - See above.

Florida Panthers – Mike Keenan is such a gigantic ass.
Pittsburgh Penguins – The biggest let down of the year.
Boston Bruins – They will rue the day they traded Thornton.

there is no way mike keenan makes that deal. he may trade bouwmeester, but he will not deal luongo unless absolutely certain he cannot re-sign the guy.
