Boys I hope you don't mind but I've extended an invite to the gangangers to hold a summer event at the Coca Cola 600.

Actually, asking the drivers wouldn't be that big a deal. Start bugging Tharp or Ramsey Poston or Helton or young France about it, and then I'm sure there would be some issues. Best possible scenario: Wait for Tony Stewart to get good and pissed about something and ask him. He was screaming at John Darby Friday after qualifying in California about TV controlling qualifying; that would have been a great time to ask...

What is this? A political race or a stock-car race?

Is that an AP re-write or something?

I always wanna pronounce Goeters like "goiters" instead of the way it's supposed to be "gators"

That's straight off the wire, but with no byline. They just moved a write-through. Turns out he won the pole. Go figure.

In really only mildly related news, a couple of guys in our production room giggled like schoolgirls at our "Gordon takes the pole" headline last week.

    And then I joined them.

    Dammit. When's naptime?

Damn, that sucks that Montoya's crew screwed up the pit stop.

Wait! Two cautions in 10 laps! On a road course! Montoya now has a chance to get back up front since NASCAR wants him to.

  11. Is anyone else getting just the Spanish-language feed?

    Yes . . . weirdness really. My elementary-level Spanish can't translate this.
