Of course, as I post that, it seems to be fixed...

My post was supposed to be in sarcastic blue, but I do think Bill France likes making Bruton Smith look bad.

Somebody failed to properly interpret the sarcasm font.

This Fox 3D thing sucks. I have EA's NASCAR SimRacing installed on my computer and if EA can get it right for a racing simulation, surely Fox Television can make their new 3D thingamajig look as good, if not better. Total failure.

On a more interesting note, here's what I noticed the past two days: the tire smoke coming off the rear tires of a lot of cars while in the turns. Not sure I've ever seen that many drivers on the hairy edge of a brown-boxers moment. To me, that's a sure sign of 1) who the best true drivers are, and 2) how poorly SMI did with this redesign.

Doesn't sound good. They say things come in threes. Parsons, Hamilton ... don't even wanna think about it.

From what I'm hearing, it's not positive. A lot of people are thinking this is a trip he's not going to return from. Man, it's been a rough year for NASCAR and we're only three races in...

    The inevitable AT&T-NASCAR lawsuit:

    And the just-as-inevitable AP error:

On a slightly-related subject from the same story ...

Given that Nextel phone service is exclusively offered on Motorola hardware, I am really surprised that Motorola wouldn't be allowed to sponsor a car in the Nextel Cup Series.

I don't think it's the Motorola deal by itself. I think it's because Motorola partnered with Verizon with R. Gordon in the Busch Series. I think NASCAR is worried that people will associate Motorola with Verizon based on that sponsorship. Regardless of that, it's ridiculous. And in the case of AT&T, I hate to say it, but I think NASCAR's got a pretty iron-clad case. They can pretty much let anyone in their sandbox that they want and conversely, kick anyone they want out of said sandbox. The rules were pretty straightforward when NEXTEL joined the party: If you were in before we got here, you can stay, but you can't change drivers and you can't change your imaging or name, otherwise you have to go.

    Ye gods.

Would somebody with a press pass please tell Krista Voda that 1974 called and wants its trucker cap back?

    Yeah...that was pretty rough...

    Lay off Krista Voda.

    Consider yourself warned. :D

Actually, laying off Krista Voda is the furthest thing from my mind. [IMG] [IMG]

But that hat ... jeebus. It looked like something a sorority girl buys on spring break to try to disguise or distract from the appearance that she's seriously hungover. I realize it was cold in the ATL today, but couldn't they have comped her a cap from one of the Speed Channel souvenir trailers? :D

    Wait a minute. Am I . . . ON NOTICE? ;D
