When did Hendrick get a fifth fulltime team?

The answer is, they don't have a fifth full-time team. Terry Labonte runs the No. 44 in 10 races this year, but there are obviously no plans to try to make that team full time.

I know. I was being sarcastic.

Sorry offbeat; it was meant to point out to Jay, who mentioned it to start with, that there's no fifth full-time team.

That's a hell of a long time to wait for development.

I swear, I know it was only a joke by Mikey...but I would pay such good money for them to put Jimmy Spencer in one of them thar Toyotas and wait for the press conference to announce it.

"So, Jimmy, what was that about Pearl Harbor?"

Isn't it pretty well known that Vickers is going to Red Bull?

Why, so he can finish last, second-last and third-last?

I have the truck race replay in the background, and I just about jumped out of my shoes.

On the screen during the aerial blimp shots, a HUUUUUUUUGE fly (well, looks huge up close at least) crawls across the camera lens.

It's happened a couple times now, but the first time, I thought a hamster-sized fly was in my bedroom.

    Yikes!!!!!

(this post was an excuse to bump this thread)

Um, so let's see ... a part-time Busch driver shows up with a half-sponsored car entered by a team that builds its own engines (rather than buy them from a Cup team) whips the big boys. You're right --- there's nothing newsworthy there. Absolutely no reason to be curious about that guy.

It's worth noting that the "Hype Manufacturing" that appears on Gilliland's car is the owner's company. It's not an actual contributing sponsor.

So where does this go in the list of all-time NASCAR upsets? Phil Parsons was saying the other night it was right up there; I don't know if I'd go that far.

As big as Greg Sacks winning the Firecracker? I can't really think of too many other NASCAR "upsets."
