All of the Evernham-Crocker-Mayfield silliness made it all the more amusing today that Dodge was still running its Mayfield spots during the race.

Ahh, that was a long time not to talk NASCAR...

Let's make some picks for tomorrow night. I'll go with Harvick.

No idea about the Cup race. I just hope Tim Sauter's OK.

He got out of the car under his own power. A little woozy, but nothing too serious, fortunately.

I mentioned this over on the shelter's NASCAR thread ...

    Row 20:
    39) Carl Edwards
    40) Dale Earnhardt Jr.

    This should be fun. :D

Thanks for that. I saw the ambulance leaving the track, and then didn't hear an update after that.

Someone in the fallout shelter's NASCAR thread mentioned they hate Bristol races. I don't mind them -- when the guys actually are racing (which doesn't happen usually until 10 or so cars are out, which is by lap 200 to 250). The 47 yellow flags per race can be kind of annoying. To me, Richmond's a better *race*.

If there's a NASCAR track I want to visit before I die, though, it's Bristol. I can't think of a better venue to watch a race.

It's on my "places to see" list along with Lambeau Field, Plymouth Rock and the Cavern Club (yeah, I know, it's not the original one, but still).

    Not Jeremy Mayfield.

    Also not Tony Raines.

Add David Gilliland to the people who didn't beat list
