You would be surprised at the number of times drivers and crewmen have had stuff missed by the personnel of the infield care centers ... one example that comes to mind happened the first year they raced at Texas Motor Speedway (1997 I believe) ... driver crashes hard during the Busch race, is taken to the care center and released with clean bill of health ... however, he's still in a lot of pain, so he goes to the ER at one of the Dallas/Ft. Worth hospitals, and they find that he's got a broken collarbone and shoulder blade ... its so bad that he can't fly home, so country singer Sammy Kershaw (he was part owner of this guys team) gives him his tour bus to drive him back home ...

How's it going out there in New Hampshire? From the Behind the Hauler chat quotes I read today, it looked like some of the drivers (Junior, Harvick) were tired of talking to the media.

Yep, they're ready to race. Harvick and Jeff Gordon so far have been the class of the field by a fair measure.

Fortunately, the rain expected today held off.

Robert Yates has no sponsor for the No. 88 next year - Citifinancial will move up, but not before 2008 - so there's a good chance Yates will be a one-car team next year.

Harvick? Tired of the media? Hot damn!

Junior? Giving short or nonsensical answers? Holy cow!

(Kidding, Gluck. You know I love you. But these guys can get pissy if they break a fingernail.)

If Yates goes to a single-car team, they're done. He'd be the Larry McClure of the Ford camp -- and that would be really sad.

Mars has to be wondering how the heck things blew up so quickly, and how they can get out of their deal ASAP.

Watch it, IJAG...I know where you live. Even worse, I can prank-call you and pretend I'm John Darby.

Tom Jensen of speedtv.com breaks the Yates story...not so fast for those who thought he was going to a one-car team.

    Jensen is the man.

Martin still saying he hasn't talked with Yates, with Robert Yates saying Martin has talked to Doug Yates. Couldn't be that Martin's full of shit, could it?

    Not Mark Martin.

It could be that Mark is saying he hasn't talked with Robert Yates.

(Because I'm replying to the last post on page 38, 10 bucks says this contribution is a D_B.)

    Understood.

Still, odds are better that Martin's full of shit.
