Wow. He must be a helluva driver to win seven season titles in the span of only five seasons. No wonder he's on the cover. Beat that, Tiger Woods...

If they are going to do the Chase -- still say it runs contrary to the rest of the points system, but I'm about to quit spewing that argument -- then this is the right way to do it. I wish they'd bumped up the win points to 190 instead of 185, but c'est la vie.

So how would this have come out at the end? Johnson still wins, Stewart 16 points back in second (per ESPN).

I sort of like the "seeding" idea. Sounds cool.

Piss in public? Void where prohibited. Hope that was worth the fine, Mr. Truex ...

Me too, and I'd also like to see point bonuses for winning the pole or winning consecutive races or maybe even making the biggest start-to-finish move through the field (ie. gain 40 places by starting 42nd and finishing second, earn five points). If a guy starts 43rd and wins, he could really pile up the points, and good for him.

I disagree. I think that would encourage a decent car to sandbag qualifying so they could get the bonus points for biggest gainer.

Also, how would you handle the guys who change engines to get a fresh motor in the car since the engine blows in happy hour, guys who qualify 25th but really end up starting at the back of the field?

There are risks with sandbagging and changing motors, whether it's getting caught up in someone else's mess or, at a place like Martinsville or Bristol, getting hung up behind Kirk Shelmerdine and then getting caught by the leaders only 10 laps into the race. But I see both of your points.

Sounds like MySpace has met the Confederate flag.

Congratulations. Hope it works out for you.

BTW, is the Canadian Tire series up here part of your bailliwick?
