Sixers trade Kyle Korver to Utah for Gordon Giricek. More to save cap space than anything else. I like the deal personally.

I didn't mean great like elite, I meant great like he should be getting 30+ minutes a night and a top three option on the Mavericks.

Eddie Jones and Jerry Stackhouse are too old.

Sixers also got a first round pick out of the deal.

Which will mean a useless pick in the 20s. Nice trade for the Jazz.

Pick can't be used until 2009 and the Sixers have until 2014 to use it. It has different protections every year.

I like this deal for the Sixers. All Korver can do is shoot, which is nice if he's playing 10-12 minutes a game, but in Philly he was playing 20. That means whatever he scores he's giving up at least that many on the other end.

He should do well in Utah though. He won't have to play as much and their inside guys should be able to find him hanging out from beyond.

I don't see the Jazz regressing into Lottery Land anytime soon. So, it'll likely be in the 20s no matter when they use it.

Pretty good move by the Sixers, for a run-of-the-mill sorta player.

The Giricek move had nothing to do with salary. It had to do with Sloan running the team, and Giricek getting on his bad side.

From Adrian Wojnarowski's Last Shot yesterday:

  10. It's a little too early to clean house, especially when you're one game behind for the eighth spot in the East [/sixerphanboy]

Good matchup on NBA TV tonight as the Celtics visit the Lakers. If Boston struggles to shoot as bad as it did at Seattle, Utah and Sacramento, the Celtics might get hammered.

You think trading Korver is cleaning house? Hopefully you just forgot the blue font.
