Tell me what Dan Gilbert and the Cavs have won?
    I'm eagerly awaiting that answer.

Because they have only made it to the NBA Finals and not won it means they are a pathetic organization?

Because they got lucky and happened to get the ping pong balls the one year the next great superstar of the league entered the draft, and actually made the proper decision to draft him I guess would make them not a pathetic organization. Clearly the Lions comparison was tongue and cheek. But come on, look past being a die hard Cavs fan here and tell me with a straight face that this franchise is worthy of any mention outside of "the team that Jordan killed 100 times."
They're second tier. Plain and simple.

The Lakers just defeated the Mavs, 108-104 in OT.
Wow, what a fun game to watch. Bryant and Nowitzki each went nuts in the 4th, especially No. 24.
He ended up scoring 52 points to go with 11 rebounds and four assists. I believe he also scored 31 of his 52 in the 4th quarter and OT. He also grabbed some key rebounds, especially an offensive rebound near the end of regulation off an Odom missed FT. He was fouled and hit two FTs to put the Lakers up by three, which was big since Nowitzki would hit a 3 to tie it and send it to OT. Then he had another big rebound off Kidd's missed FT late in OT.
All that with a mangled pinkie finger on his shooting hand.

I've watched more NBA games in the last couple weeks than I have all season combined and these Western Conference games have been spectacular to watch. The playoffs, well, I can't wait.

Pretty crazy Mavs-Lakers game today. Kobe went insane in the fourth quarter and OT and finished with 52. Dirk came up big in the fourth and OT, including a 3 at the end of regulation to tie it. Speaking of which, I was on the phone with my dad at the time, and we were both watching the game. About two seconds before Nowitzki shot, I heard my dad go, "Oh, wow," and I knew he'd hit it, but on my screen he was still dribbling. Two seconds later, yep, he nailed it. TVs in different parts of the country are on different feeds?

Van Gundy also made one of the great calls. With Lakers up by 1 with 6 seconds in regulation, he said that the Mavs should not have Brandon Bass in the game blocking out Kobe on the free throw attempts by Odom, because if there was a miss, kobe would be too athletic for Bass to block out. Odom misses both...and Kobe gets the offensive rebound. Tremendous work by the bald one.

Ya beat me to it Tripp.

Looks like the Mavs' trade for Kidd and Suns' trade for Shaq are working out quite well. Oh wait, no they're not.

At least the Mavs are still a competitive team. The Suns get beat by 30 at home and then lose to the damn Sixers in the desert. Ouch.
Tremendous move by the Heat to dump that fat arrogant slob off as soon as humanly possible. As a Heat-hater, I hate to say this, but this might go down as one of the best trades ever -- for the Miami group.
As for Phoenix, Steve Kerr took a chance, it failed -- move on. I guess.

Kerr should be fired for making that trade. Plain and simple.

See I'm torn on that. I think that obviously that team needed a shake up. Because they weren't going to win the way they were at and Marion was going to get out of there eventually.
But to acquire the Big Slow?
You may be right Tyrone Biggins.

And with that huge contract? Horrible, horrible, horrible move by Kerr.

And how about those Sixers? Coming back with a great win last night after getting crushed by Golden State.

I'm not a huge NBA fan because Isiah and the Knicks have drained all of the enjoyment out of the game. But today's Mavs-Lakers game was awesome.
