And Milwaukee lost to Miami tonight by six. That's bad.

BB, I know you're a big Celts fan, but what in God's name are you smoking by saying that Boston has a better bench than Detroit?
    That's bold right there brother.
I know it's been a while since your team has mattered, but let me remind you that all we know about this team is 3/4 of an NBA regular season's worth. And the one thing we do know, is that the NBA regular season is about as worthless as a 3-dollar bill.
Boston beat Detroit two out of three in the reg season, which is impressive I guess. But it's not May. The money isn't on the line. And as I'm sure you know, Detroit really only ever plays to its potential when they're a dog. It's a pathetic trait to have, but it's the truth.
Rondo can't guard Billups, there's no way in hell. Ray Allen can't keep up with Hamilton over 7 games, Garnett wins the Rasheed battle, McDyess-Maxiell-Amir Johnson-Theo Ratliff win the center battle all day and Tayshaun Prince is built for stopping one dimensional guys like Pierce.
It's going to be a great battle ... and I'm looking forward to it.

And, while everyone debates about the prowess of the East, Lakers fans continue to be impressed at the sheer will of their team, winning 123-119 in OT at Golden State, without Gasol (and of course Bynum and Ariza).
This win comes one day after the Lakers saw a spirited rally fall just short to the Warriors at Staples Center.
Again, I keep waiting for all the injuries to catch up to the Lakers, but Kobe Bryant just refuses to let this team go into any extended funk. I find it shocking, even as a Lakers fan, that this team still sits atop the Western Conference standings.

Don't worry Tripp ... I'm sure they'll all catch up with them at exactly the wrong time. Isn't that always what seems to happen to teams we like watching?
In all seriousness though, they still need everyone back and at their best ASAP because the West is going to be one ridiculous show come April. Don't be shocked for one second if we see another 8 over 1 series. I'm betting as a Laker fan you're dreading the hell out of a Mavs-Lakers round 1 showdown?
    Crazy stuff about to happen!

    Blue font?

And if not, please don't point to just the last two games as some sort of trend. They're 55-15, it certainly hasn't plagued them.

Watched that Laker game in LAX's Air Canada lounge.

No, you're exactly right. They need at least Gasol back to make any kind of extended run.

And, I'd LOVE it if the Lakers played Dallas. I don't fear the Mavs at all. The last team I want to face is ... the Warriors. Now THAT'S a scary team.

Ha! Good point. I guess if it were the Spurs dipping down low or something then it'd be time to start getting worried. But yeah, I think even shorthanded LA could make pretty easy work of Dallas this year.
I think it might be a case of "wow, look how even these teams are," and in the end, we still will probably be talking about how LA and San An. made quick work of everyone else on their respective paths to the Conf. Finals.

The country that brought you GB is putting together a team to try and qualify for the 2012 Olympics. Now added to the Great British roster that includes Luol Deng is his Bulls' teammate Ben Gordon, who was born in London before moving to the U.S. as a child.

Add an outside sharp shooter and they have a shot at beating the US.

Bunch of U.S. college players on the list too, though I don't know much about any of them except for 'Nova's Dante Cunningham--a pretty decent player.
