I'm sure Pastor or another of the MLS experts will be able to help you. Be patient. It was a busy weekend.

Hate it. Hateithateithateit. There's enough damn teams in the league with red, white and blue colors. There's enough faux Euro knockoffs already. Bring back the fucking green Rapids!

When Kroenke first took over, they rebraned to black and blue, saying they wanted to be "the Raiders of MLS." Now what are they, the Burnley of MLS? It's like they have a bunch of middle-school girls running the marketing department.

As to "Arsenal," that comes about because the stadium is being built on the site of the old Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Commerce City.

I've heard they have a marketing agreement with Arsenal FC as well, but that was probably more a matter of cutting a check so they could use the name.

And those colors look an awful lot like West Ham.

Agreed. More of MLS trying to be something it's not.

There are rumors the Galaxy will "re-brand" in the wake of Beckham joining. They did have that purple and gold third jersey last year. I am fearful as to what they wwill do.

I posted images of the new Galaxy kits a little while back. (At least I think I did.)

They won't re-brand. They will just get new colors. I believe black is in the future for them.

I also feel a bit better about the Arsenal name based on Trooper's post. I will accept it.

As to financing... MLS rules are rather screwed up. There probably is something in writing somewhere, but it doesn't really matter. Money comes and goes and where it stops and who's pockets it goes, nobody knows!

    From the Baaston Globe:

    Klinsmann update

The story of the recruiting of Juergen Klinsmann by US Soccer was revived in recent days in an excellent interview conducted by Connecticut native Erik Kirschbaum, a Germany-based correspondent for Reuters. Klinsmann revealed he was disappointed negotiations broke down late last year and he still would be interested in coaching the US national team or teams in countries where he performed during his career.
"Yes, definitely, at some point I'd like to be coaching again," said Klinsmann, speaking from his Huntington Beach, Calif., base. "I'm preparing myself for something new that might come along. It could happen in a month or two, or a year or two. I'm getting myself ready for the next step without knowing what that next step might be. I'm learning Spanish, going to seminars, and trying to learn as much as I can from other sports and coaches."
Klinsmann, 42, also was offered the Mexico coaching position, the Mexicans eventually hiring Hugo Sanchez. Klinsmann, who speaks English, German, and Italian, said he is studying Spanish daily.
"My batteries are recharged now," Klinsmann said. "You have to be open to a lot of things. There is not an endlessly long list of job options at the level I've been fortunate enough to coach. The air is pretty thin up there. And if it's the right fit with the family and the right challenge, then you go to the country where you might have once never thought you'd go.
"Italian is still embedded in my system. It's all stored away and still in there. I think you need to be able to speak the local language, otherwise you're missing something."
After failing to sign Klinsmann, the US named Bradley as interim coach in December.
"That was truly unfortunate," Klinsmann said of the breakdown in negotiations. "We were really quite far along in the talks but there were a few sporting aspects we couldn't find a common denominator on."

    Me:

He's got the batteries recharged cliche down. Will be interesting to see what this interview does for the people who still pine for him.

I just can't understand why we didn't give him a blank piece of paper and told him, "Write down what you want and we'll sign it." US Soccer blew it. He would have been a perfect fit. Bradley might do OK, but this was a once in a generation chance to get someone like Klinsmann. Stupid freakin' egos at US Soccer. They can't understand that maybe, just maybe, someone knows more about soccer than they do.

Sigh...Anyway, looking forward to the US-Mexico game on Wed.

The Liverpool takeover is all but done. Gillett and Hicks are going to pay off the clubs $89 mil debt, and build a new stadium. I think this is a good move for all involved. I'm pretty sure Liverpool fans will be happy about it.

Congratulations to Liverpool Hawkey Club. I'm sure it will be a boon to their organ-eye-zation.

Can't wait until LiverpoolTV integrates the glowing puck technology....

    NO. NO. NO. NO. NO!

I cannot stress this enough. Why on earth would you give a guy that was a head coach for two years autonimous control? Seriously.

Let me know what Klinsmann has won that says we should just turn the entire country's program over to him.

The guy earned the right to coach the team. He can pick his players. Want anything more than that? Uh, sorry. Thanks for playing.

I wanted Klinsmann. I do NOT want Klinsmann as the god of US Soccer.

Bradley will do a good enough job to not need the German.

I read an interesting piece by Canales yesterday on how the irons are still in the fire with Klinnsman and Pekerman. I think it's possible that if Bradley doesn't get a result tomorrow and win the other two friendlies, they might look somewhere else before the Copa in the summer.

Bradley will do a good enough job, that is correct, but bringing in Klinsmann COULD jump start soccer in this country, he is the type of personality that COULD get some of the top young athletes in this country to play soccer instead of football, basketball, baseball, etc ... Bradley will do the best he can with what he has, but as far as turning soccer to a major sport in this country (not that Klinsmann will), he is just another Bruce Arena ... The U.S. Soccer Federation, Suniul Gulati in particular, needs to get off its high horse and give up some of the power in the U.S. program ... also does anyone think its odd that most of the USSF board has money invested in the MLS, don't you think that is a little bit of a conflict of interest as far as doing what is best for the U.S. National Team, not the MLS?
