How ironic is it that the guy who beats up his teammate with a golf club (Bellamy) and that teammate (Riise) score for Liverpool?

Or that Bellamy provided the assist for Riise's goal.

Would have been better if after Riise's goal if Bellamy had done the golf shot towards Riise's leg.
But the golf celebration was the best I've seen since Eskandarian spitting out the Red Bull against RBNY last season.

OK, so in the last week I've heard the following players linked to MLS: Patrick Berger, Robbie Fowler, Thomas Gravesen and, again, Zidane. (www.cnnsi.com, the truth and rumors section)

There was an interesting column by on soccernet.com about how the Beckham rule, so far, has landed only one big-name player: Beckham. Davids, Ronaldo, Figo? No one has actually come through.

Will we see any other big-name players come to the US? Or is the MLS now being used as a negotiating tool?

Fowler is the name I'm hearing for RBNY. Also, The Bruce has said a signing will be made soon and it is rumored to be a DP.

And for Inky, my SPL compadre... Rangers put on a complete ass-kicking. They won 4-0 in their EUFA fixture over the Tel Aviv team. Wow.

McGregor, the Rangers keeper, was tossed with about 15-minutes to play on a straight-up red card. The score at the time was 3-0 (4-2 on aggregate).

Wow. It was probably about as good a game as I have seen my bears play all season.

I basically stopped working for the last two hours as I didn't feel like doing anything but watch the game. Now, I'm leaving and going to the bar. Nothing could be better.

I was quite happy to see Rangers put it on Hapoel like that.

Any time an SPL side is playing a foreign team, I'm rooting for them ... unless they're playing an MLS club. But there's something about that Tel-Aviv club I really don't like. Maybe that last match against Ranges soured me on Hapoel.

BTW, I wasn't watching. Did McGregor really earn the red?

MLS is now to big-name foreign players what Los Angeles is to NFL teams seeking a sweet stadium deal.

Gotta get another name to commit to the league. Gotta get that legitimacy. If it's Fowler, great.

I'm hoping that by the time Rangers play again, Pastor will have learned to "spell" UEFA.

:-[ I'm tired and still jet-lagged! (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)

I didn't see the previous game between the Rangers and Tel Aviv, but I did hear it was nasty. I also agree on taking MLS over the SPL.

As to McGregor's red... I am only just now searching for information on what happened. It was a bit of a late night on the celebration and the actual incident wasn't really caught on film.

From what I've read and seen he punched one of the Hapoel players. I don't know what led up to it though.

From The Daily Record, a paper not particularly liked by Gers fans...

I have Scotland's Real Radio loaded up and am gearing up to hear the various takes on last night's game.
