"Honestly, you can go shopping or to dinner without being mobbed. It's brilliant. Of course, Victoria hates not being recognized."

    A random thought:

Wynalda's Red card/Yellow Card is predictable and cheesy. Hopefully they can tweak it into something worthwhile. Right now, it's like he is really trying to rmind everyone of his irreverence, since Bruce Arena entered the booth and had better takes and a much more pull-no-punches style.

Blanco -- I feel quite safe in saying there's no way in hell Chicago makes this move if Peter Wilt is still running the show. Were the lessons of Hugo Sanchez, Jorge Campos, Luis(a) Hernandez and co. not enough for them? Pandering to Hispanic crowds is no way to build a fan base. The last thing the Fire needs is another red card magnet ... they already have CJ Brown.

The one good thing about this move is it will hasten Dave Sarachan's departure, which can't happen soon enough for some Fire fans.

Champions League -- That's two rounds in a row that Bayern have brought the drama. What the hell's going on out there?!? Fair result, though, considering how they utterly hosed on the Kaka flop/PK.

PSV ... ugh. Way to do the Eredivisie proud, boys.

I think I've figured out how to best navigate ESPN's Champions League coverage. Don't watch the live game. Watch the other game on Setanta. It'll be the less-glamourous match, but it'll undoubtedly be the more evenly matched. AC Milan-Bayern Munich was possibly as exciting as a first leg can be.

Or simply watch the replay on ESPN Classic

As little as I know about soccer, I know that Italians flop all the time and play like goddamn sissies. Fuck Italian soccer. One of those bastards just did it again.

I posted it over on the Wynalda thread, but thought I should put it here...

Seems the ManU fans in Rome were roughed up by the stadium police during halftime of today's match. The ESPN commentators said it wasn't pretty.

Scholes has been tossed as well.

On a rare non-dive by one of those Italians.

Not a dive, but in true Totti style he made a complete meal out of it.

Very patient goal by Rooney to settle the ball and finish.
