Forecast was something like 34 degrees with 30 mph wind and snow showers. Fuck I wouldn't go even if Columbus were my team and were coming off of a double season.

I watched both, RBNY v. Crew and DC v. Colorado. I started at the bar at 3. I ended at the bar at 2. Ouch.

    The DC game wasn't bad.

I don't get RBNY sometimes. I seriously don't understand that team. I love them but god damn they just piss me off sometimes.

Starting Terry Cooke made me feel a little better about three of my starters not even playing and another getting six whole minutes. Still have Jaqua and Cannon going today, though.

Two rookie head coaches making the final, GB? Bold move. I don't see El Lay winning the west -- Becks won't show up until later and they'll be out a bunch of guys for the Gold Cup and Copa America. The Gals will make MLS Cup, though, and beat the MetroBulls since they have the experience, depth and two players (Beckham, Donovan) who will receive copious amounts of Ref Protection.

You watch ... $10,000 minimum fine for the first guy to injure Davie GoldenBalls.

RBNY will be just fine. Sorry that I missed the part at Stout.

It was a good time. RBNY picked up the alcohol tab. So, we rolled well. :)

I would like to think that they will be fine... but...

Except for a couple of chances by the Orange's big two this Houston v LA game is pretty dire. And that red card was complete shit.

Suggested by someone much smarter (and drunker) than me:

    The Christopher Sullivan Drinking Game!
Might as well make Saturdays on FSC fun!

    * 1 drink when he talks about triangles
    * 1 drink when he overpronounces a Hispanic or Italian player's name
    * 1 drink when he says slaloming
    * 1 drink when he talks about good definition
    * 1 drink when he talks about coordination between players
    * 1 drink when he says interchanging
    * 1 drink when he says orientated
    * 1 drink when he talks about a team's balance
    * 1 drink when he talks about a team's understanding
    * 1 drink when he says what part of the foot a player uses to bring down the ball
    * 1 drink when he says technical
    * 1 drink when he talks about the three lines
    * 1 drink when he talks about vulnerability
    * Finish your drink when he throws in a random word that really doesn't fit in, but sounds good or when he uses a foreign sounding word which you are not even sure is a word, but he defines it so you kind of believe him

Talking of FSC, that was absolute amateur hour stuff on the pregame, and on the game commentary. Botched graphics, no introductory lines when talking to players, and Bretos trying to be too clever by half.

This needs to improve in a hurry.

On the other hand, I'm warming more and more to ESPN/ABC's coverage. Ryan has obviously done more research on how to call soccer well, and was good on the Colorado game.

An even bigger plus was no Balboa! Foudy did a nice job between the booth and the pregame.

My dilemma -- do I watch the second half of the United-Roma game at the gym or do I wait to watch it on tape at home? I don't want to be stuck watching extra time and Man United doesn't have the best luck when I watch them at the gym in CL games.

But I'm not sure that I can remain unspoiled and I don't know if I have the time to watch it tonight until really late.

Watch it in the gym. The first half from both sides will be fairly reserved as whoever scores first is almost assured to go through. My day today is packed and I no longer have the VCR set up so I have to rely on sportinglife's gamer tracker. Might be able to catch some of the Man U game between classes though.

Fletcher into today's starting lineup for ManU. Hooray Scotland!

(One of these days I need to get the Champions League anthem as a ringtone.)
