Just about every team (except Toronto) can be expected to have a three-game win streak. NY is getting theirs out of the way early. It's a loooonnngggg season.

That said, they do look damn good. The key will be how they react when Reyna gets hurt.

Give yourself a round of applause Toronto.

Everything from the atmosphere to the TV announcers is perfect.

why? Reyna has been pretty much invisible on the field this season anyway, especially on the offensive side, he is a big part of the reason they haven't given up a goal yet though

  4. This coming from the guy that wasn't hot at all for the Colombian when the rumors were first reported. Good to see you've changed your tune.

The reason why they have done so well is that center of midfield is locked up with Claudio and Dema.

I wonder if SAF steps down if he pulls off the double (CL and EPL) or even the treble (part II). If so, is Keano is the mix? Sunderland was promoted today.

I would say no to Sir Alex stepping down. As good as it would be, he still seems to me like he's got that want to go after even more. I don't see him slowing down as long as he's got his health, which he definitely does.

Even though Keane is a club legend of sorts, the Glazers won't turn the reins of their investment over to a guy with one season of managerial experience.

Wouldn't break my heart if, should Ferguson leave, ManYoo looked at Big Sam.

Their first win against Dallas was without Reyna. That game ended 3-0.

One more note on RBNY: They still haven't given up a goal.

I wasn't high on the rumor as RBNY had tons of rumors all season. I also wasn't so high on Angel coming based on some or the other rumors regarding his laziness.

I am perfectly willing to be proven wrong and have my mind changed.

In other news... Who here saw this one as a surprise?

Well, Blatter said that it would need to be some kind of natural disaster that would prevent South Africa, and at present they are option A and B.

He also added that 2018 should be in Asia to keep a continental rotation going. With Japan and South Korea having hosted already, anyone up for Australia? Or would they try to take it to China?

China would push hard, real hard. I can see them going to Australia based on proximity. China is too close to Japan/S.Korea. I will also state that China would have no problems bribing whomever needs to be bribed in order to get the games. They want them bad.

Trust nothing that comes out of Sepp Blatter's mouth. If the prospect of the 2010 World Cup being a debacle (read: making less money) still exists come 2009, you can bet Soccer House will be getting a very urgent phone call.

    ----------

As for China, let's see if they can keep their domestic shit together. Keep in mind they've reorganized their top two leagues a couple times since the turn of the century ... not to mention all the reports of thuggery (both at home and abroad) and the Black Whistle scandal.

If both stay on their current course, the A-League and Oz could easily take China's No. 3 spot in East Asia if they're not careful.
