Who was that subbed out for the US? Was that Wolff?

    0-0 at the half.

And Jim McKay is doing segments for ESPN's World Cup coverage? When did this start?

I dunno ... other than the 1950 match against England, what can be waxed about poetically with U.S. soccer?

I miss J.P. Dellacamera ... nothing against Davis, though. He's not bad.

And Pablo Mastroeni has to stop the Brazilian act ... it's grating on my nerves and I'm pulling for his team. :(

Sam, the last World Cup was pretty special. I think that can be highlighted.

    As to the first half...

    1. Bad first touches have lead to turnovers.

    2. Bad passes have lead to turnovers.

    3. Sloppy in the beginning.

The play seems to have picked up for the US towards the end of the first half. They created opportunities and really put Germany on their heals. Ballack, for all of his talents, is a drama queen at times.

Also, Ching was physically molested and the call went against him. So, unless he went and signed up for a cuddle party, I don't see how it was possible.

Yeah, it was good. The win over Portugal was quite nice.

But with the U.S. now ranked fifth, I wonder if that ratcheted expectations ... too much, too soon?

The second half is about to start ...

It is too much, too soon. But, that is what happens when the majority of fans don't really understand what goes one.

And with the German goal coming, that sucked.

    Fuck those guys.

For Germany, but not for the US.

Yes, yes, I know it's the B team against the German's A team. But 3-0!?!

Edit: And right as I posted, it became 4-0. US defense is horrid.

    No, it's not 3-0.

    It's 4-0.

I get it, Crass. I think they'll be better, but with the usual suspects looming, reality needs to set in.

Speaking of reality ... this match is becoming embarrassing. Yes, I know the Americans are missing a lot of firepower, but 4-0? Ever heard of defense, Bruce?

A few bad goals resulting directly from poor play and poor first touches by players that probably won't be in Germany.

Ching was molested in the box, no call. An American just got run over in the midfield, no call. Johnson taken out, no card.

Hey, it is what it is, and they are hardly the cause, but it is just poor.

As to the "B" team, this is hardly our C team, especially true when you start Ching up top and Wolff behind him.

I was just hoping for a better outcome.
