You're not a native Scouser, I take it.

Maybe he's referring to MLS clubs in CONCAlaugh competitions. Even then, getting two teams to the semifinals makes that a bit shaky.

    -----------

Pastor: As for China, I'm more worried about their guys thugging it up (like their Olympic team in England) so close to the Gold Cup. Maybe Du Wei can play himself into a decent contract over here.

    -----------

NOLU: My thoughts exactly, except maybe not quite so brusque. It's hard to feel for the folks who woke up early on a Saturday and shelled out $25 or so for that dross.

Expendable my ass. Convey's knee injury (and subsequent operation) had a little something to do with Hunt's increased PT, let's not forget.

Do you really think a team like Reading -- one with legitimate European hopes while facing the dreaded Second Season -- will go through the campaign with one reliable left winger? Utter nonsense.

No, I don't. But I think Convey will likely ask for a transfer so he can play full time.

The FA Cup was barely watchable for most of it. There was far too much time spent on the build-up and much less on the actual finish. The keepers just didn't need to work very hard.

The one "goal" which wasn't really wasn't. There shouldn't have been any complaining there.

Two teams packing the midfield and playing nullifying tactics ... expect more of the same tomorrow in Athens.

0-0 AET, the Kopites win on PKs as Dida remembers he is, in fact, Dida.

I predict a Kaka goal in regulation. There will be no overtime.

    Stevie G rules the day.
    I hope.

I'm with you on that. Gerrard scores late in the second half for a 1-0 win.

Okay, enough of this Champions League stuff... How am I going to be able to watch Rangers v. Galaxy today?

I have some friends that flew out to LA for the game. My wife suggested I do the same, although I'm just wondering if she wanted me out of the house. Also, I am running a little low on the vacation time.

An exhibition between a Galaxy A-minus team (expect to see more than a few scrubs) and a Rangers team that just completed a long season? No thanks.

If you still want to watch it, it sounds like you're hosed unless you get KNLA Channel 27. You might be able to get it off Rangers' website, though.

Sez Setanta UK: The match against David Beckham's new club will kick off at 3.30am UK time on Thursday morning and will then be repeated in full on Rangers TV at 5.45pm and again at 10pm later in the day.

ESPN should hire Steve Nicol for all the soccer coverage. He's a hoot.
