Agreed -- Seriously, anyone want to name the most recent U.S. goal better than Feilhaber's strike today? Nice to note this country is developing midfield players capable of THAT. Wow.

Hopefully that will convince other Americans that it's OK to shoot from outside the box.

Get a couple guys who can do that in the lineup and, all of a sudden, packing the box with nine or 10 guys isn't as effective.

Well, at least Copa America is in the sedate, sober hands of GOLTV's Ray Hudson. The Geordie Dick Vitale is going to be in rare form, for sure.

Well I don't get that, so I guess its Univision, Telefutura and Galavision for me.....

I don't get any of the channels Copa America is on, so it will be Asian Internet TV for me.

He needs to try Europe again. The question is if he wants to.

I'm still convinced the lack of sandlot soccer in the US hampers creative striking. Youth coaches don't run long-range shooting drills. So unless a kid is out trying volleys and shots from outside the box on his own, he'll never learn that touch in most youth programs.

I was on vacation the last three days, but I still found a way to the bar on Sunday to watch the US game. I must state that the win propelled my afternoon into such a jubilatory boozefest that Monday was a very very difficult day to wake-up.

Inky, there is a ton of "sandlot soccer" in my area. Hell, my town and the two next door, have put in artificial turf fields with goals specifically for soccer. Meanwhile, they have cut down on the number of basketball courts. Just saying.

I certainly enjoy the US beating Mexico. And the way the team won this time was incredible. It was simply phenominal. Also, the Mexican whining never gets old.

Oh, I know there's some out there, my Ger-loving friend. But from what I've seen of youth soccer (as a player, volunteer coach and interested observer) the US system is too regimented and stifles creativity. Admittedly, we need to emphasize the fundamentals to the young players, but we also need to encourage them to be fearless when going for goal.

And did everybody get this e-mail today?
