Aaaaaaaaand so much for that. Argies with a free kick 25 yards out one minute later. Riquelme dinks it over the wall, US defenders are nowhere to be found, Keller stuffs the inital shot before Crespo stuffs home the rebound.

Not sure what happened back there. Just about every American defender in the box lost his marker....

    -----------

Yup, tap-in from a yard out. Pure golazo there.... ::)

Justin Mapp chasing back on defense? Bob must be getting to these kids.

Mostly back-and-forth in the midfield after the equalizer. The Argies are finding acres of space deep down the wing, but have yet to make any of it count.

  3. That's what Crespo does...se pone toda la basura en la red.

32': Mascherano tries to out-muscle Taylor "Tits" Twellman and ends up fouling him 25 yards out, dead center.

Feilhaber's the only one over the ball. Tried to play it low and around the Argie wall, but it's wide of the net.

Oh, fer chrissakes. Somebody shoot the ball!

38': EJ, who's actually been pretty useful this half, keeps the ball well on an otherwise 1v4 break. Three people pass up shots, though, and an attempt at a through ball from the top of the box goes out for a goal kick.

  6. Credit the U.S. for taking Argentina out of its game. Riquelme hasn't been able to create much in the middle, so they've resorted to longer balls out of the back. More balls needed to the wings, better service for Crespo.

43': US defending way too deep. Veron gets the ball wide open on the right wing and cracks one from long range. Keller pushes the shot onto the crossbar. KK also saves a header from the ensuing corner.

44': EJ leads another dangerous-looking US break, but it's wiped out before the ball even gets in the box.

46': Benny the Younger busts out the big gun, taking a good shot from distance. The Duck makes the save, though.

Halftime, 1-1. Not too bad by the kids thus far. Twellman, shock of shocks, was invisible for the most part. Wynne and Bornstein are leaving way too much space on the flanks, which is going to burn the US eventually. Other than that, it's a successful first half.

The GolTV commentary is much worse than anything FSC has to offer.
    I should find another source.

This could be interesting. US with a free kick at the top of the D in the 52nd minute. Argie wall is on the PK spot.

Bah. Mapp curls it, but it's over the bar. Looked like he leaned back when he took it.

57': Argie sub, Pablito Aimar on for Cambiasso.

US on the attack soon after. Milito gets booked for hauling down Mapp from behind. Free kick from the left wing, near post serve is cleared out.
