It's 4-1 now ... the US is ripping Poland apart.

Sal Zizzo made a great run down the right, beating two Poles with speed and another with a cutback before feeding Adu. Szetela got his second by running onto a Wallace through ball that split the Polish defense in two.

  2. the new galaxy jerseys are bland, sort of like the way the team has played this season

    70': 5-1 now, Altidore with an empty-net tap-in.

The US is light-years quicker than they were against South Korea. Either the Poles are convinced they're already through or they're still feeling the effects of a post-Brazil bender.

US wins 6-1 ... Adu finished his hat-trick by running onto a through ball and rounding the Polish keeper. The Americans were just too fast and too good today.

The game was basically the polar opposite of the South Korea game. Americans buzzing around all over the field, running past people and creating opportunities. I don't recall Seitz needing to make any particularly difficult saves, either.

    -----------

On the Copa America front, Peru and Bolivia are tied 1-1. Jaime Moreno put Boliva ahead with a sneaky lob before Peru scored off a free kick. If the US is going to get one of the two third-place berths, they need Peru to win or tie and have Venezuela put a hurting on Uruguay. Wins by Mexico and Brazil tomorrow wouldn't hurt either.

And lo, the under-20's performance today makes this comment seem incredibly precient.

I only got to see the first 25 minutes or so, but good lord those first two goals were special. Adu's first should be on SC tonight in the top 10.

    Copa America:

Uruguay and Peru are tied for second in Group A with four points, so now the US needs its bestest buddies Mexico to put a hurting on Chile. Even a 2-0 win for El Tri puts Chile at -3 goal difference, well within striking distance for the US (-5 GD). That's all assuming Brazil doesn't fall asleep at the wheel against Ecuador, of course.

    Mexico draws, Brazil wins...
And thus ends our Copa America.

We now have a glorified friendly with Colombia Thursday.

Copa America is a crap tournament to enter. Seriously. It just feels like nobody takes this thing as seriously as say our Gold Cup or the Euro championship. And it's corrupt.

    Tevez to United? http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2119328,00.html

That's going to be some tough teams at the upper end of the EPL. Pool and Spurs both stepped up this offseason.

Seriously, the U-20 team gave me a lot of hope for the future on Tuesday. That team looked downright dangerous out there. I was really shocked.

I didn't see the game against S.Korea, but I had friends that were there and they said it wasn't pretty.

I am looking forward to tonight's game, not because it will mean anything, but because it will at least be something to watch and be entertained by. I just hope Bradley puts out a line-up that will be fun.

The headline on that column should read "Wojciechowski Out Of Ideas, Uses Crutch To Fill Space."
