    A response in two parts:

    1) What prompted this outburst? The ticker at the bottom of the screen, perhaps?

    2) Yes, ESPN hates soccer. They hate it so much they air Champions League games, MLS games, UNMNT and USWNT games and the entirety of the mens and womens World Cups. Those bastards!

I'm gearing up for Sunday, the day I will forget.

Red Bull is bussing some 800 people down to DC for the opener.

Also, looks like Red Bull Secured Shakira and Wyclef Jean to play halftime of their home opener. And there was some buzz about Rihanna having a pre-game concert or something.

Mmmm.... Shakira..... that's a pleasant mental image....

I'm pretty impressed with the Red Bull folks. They seem to have come into MLS with their role model being Mark Cuban, intent on shaking things up. I have to say that's a good thing.

As a beneficiary of such kind giving, I concur.

    Sunday's itinerary:
    Leave at ~8:30am
Arrive at Love Night Club (rented out for two hours to just us) ~1
Leave to go to the actual game in DC ~3
Leave the stadium after the game.

Oh and in Love, there is an open bar. Nice. I am fully expected to not remember this trip.

I would tell you to be sure to give us full updates on your return, but seeing as how Red Bull seems to want a drunken horde descending on DC, well, I understand....

Not much to say yet. Looking at the MetroBulls' performances in Charleston, it could be same old, same old in New York.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Kenny Cooper can do in Dallas ... not to mention which El Lay club John O'Brien ends up with.

Rumor at www.yanks-abroad.com was that the Galaxy was offering Herculez Gomez for the allocation.

Would be reckless, to say the least, for LA, since they'll lose Donovan for an extended period this summer. But I would guess Chivas would jump at such an offer.

Yeah, the Charleston performances were not very good at all. But, that was before the arrival of Buddle! I am very interested in seeing what they do.

    Gomez to Chivas... interesting.

  10. The Sampson has denied any trade involving Gomez. O'Brien was training the Galaxy; but he was seen training with the Goats on Friday.

Good opening day game to have on national TV.

Kenny Cooper made me feel very smart (if only temporarily) for taking a chance on him in MFLS. That is one big, big kid.

Interesting pick-up by the Rapids ... Fernando's Home for the Washed-Up has a new tenant:
