NASL also had Giorgio Chinaglia, who would make Giorgio Chinaglia's list of the 10 best players ever.

    Cruyff... what a putz.

His sheer egotism kept Holland from one Cup title, maybe two.

And, Pele gave the NASL life.

The other guys you mention never venture this way with no Pele joining up in 1977.

    Cowbell is correct re: Pele.

Also, none of the others are considered the best to ever play the game. We appreciate a Cruyff and a Beckenbauer as soccer fans, but Pele is a name that crosses over.

Maybe thanks to his transcendent performance in "Victory."

Pele was never really popular until his starring role in Hot Shot.

The only question is who would fill spots 2-10.

    One other thing on this.

Best scored perhaps the greatest goal I ever saw while with the San Jose Earthquakes in a game against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers... used eight guys, making them look like driving cones.

That said, he was utterly used up by the time he came over here.

Even though he was only 29.

You need to add a couple of spots for Chinaglia the indoor soccer player.
