I completely agree. Nothing more to it. But, it would be nice to see the big guy get that number.

I thought O'Rourke seemed pretty good. His distribution seemed off, but he seemed solid in the defensive set. He was all over the place.

Wynne did look slick. A minor mistake to give the chance at a goal but that dude is fast as hell.

  2. John OBrien appears headed to MLS and Chivas USA

Apparently Chivas has instituted Enron's accountants to figure out how that salary cap works.

Note that Matt Reis was the other keeper called into the squad. Hopefully Hartman can put his passport back in moth balls for a while....

Just what MLS needs ... another ageing, disinterested import with wonky knees.

Sounds like an ideal MetroBulls signing. :D

Good to see for Meola.... nice way to let him fade off into the sunset.

A little nervous about O'Brien potentially playing next week. If he's "close" to healthy, I don't want him playing - rest up, don't do something stupid now that kills your chance of playing in Germany.

By all accounts, Ronaldo is still in his prime. He's just a lazy overweight fuck that doesn't like to practice.

In order to obtain him, the transfer fee would probably be in the range of $20mm.

And Ziz, I agree, only IF he's healthy. None of this "close" crap. No need to become damaged again going to Germany.

And there's only room for one of those in MLS:

And just to show that the website was legit, here is source number 2 on the Ronaldo to Red Bull rumor:

Man United sign a huge shirt deal with AIG. Maybe now they can sign a decent d-mid.

By the way, the first floor of Niketwon in NYC is completely devoted to soccer, including the new US gear.

I've got my ManU kit on today. I was hoping for some Red Bull sponsorship. :D

As to NikeTown with soccer stuff... I was hoping that they would be the company to get the MLS jersey contracts. As much as I love Adidas stuff (for the most part), I think Nike would have been the better choice.

My ManU kit is already outdated because it is from Umbro.

Niketown always put it's soccer gear, especially MLS stuff, in a corner somewhere. It is good to see that they put the US stuff on almost an even basis with the Brazil gear.

To me, the coolest national team kits are the Dutch -- Webster's pick to take it all in Germany.
