Shambolic as the Gringo Goats can be at times, I think you underestimate how big a gulf is between these teams. CUSA is a top-flight professional team -- you have to go below USL 1, USL 2, D-3 and the PDL to get to the USASA.

My comment on the Goats loss: Bradley in the US Open Cup. He had one good run with the MetroStars years ago, after that he was getting beat by Tom and 10 of his fat drunk friends.

I watched Red Bull beat Colorado, which was nice. Then I watched Celtic play Chivas, the Mexican brand.

Celtic played like complete utter shit. Now, I'm no fan of their's and this is no secret. However, to say they were dominated by a much smaller team would be an understatement.

Often times when I go and watch such games, you expect to see some real quality teams. Here you have one of the top Mexican teams and, less than two weeks before the season starts, a top Scottish team. These teams spend more than half of the MLS squads put together. Yet, here was this top team just playing extremely ugly and poorly.

DC smashed Celtic up to the tune of 4-0. I realize that Celtic's season didn't start, but it does on the 30th of this month. These games are supposed to let the coach know where his starters are and what the top of his bench looks like.

Two years ago, there was talk about Celtic and Rangers switching over to the EPL due to the decline in the SPL and the money involved.

In any case, I would put the top 50% of MLS teams right up there with them.

Does anyone on this board have GOL TV? I heard it was pretty good, but when I called up my cable company to ask how much it cost, I hung up right away. If someone does have it, is it worth the money?

On DirecTV, it's part of the extra sports package, which goes for about $12 a month.
    I prefer Fox Soccer Channel.

I have it as part of the DirecTV sports package. It's not a bad channel to have if you're into Serie A or La Liga, but it doesn't offer a whole lot else.

As to whether it's worth the money, that's entirely up to you.

Just further illustrates the need for constant, quality opposition. If you can't get it domestically (MLS, SPL) and you consistently bomb out of continental competitions (Champions Cup, UCL), you're going to get left in the dust.

Fox Soccer Channel kicks Gol TV's ass. If you have them, its akin TVG vs. Horse Racing TV.

But I does Fox Sports Channel show any La Liga games?

I think Fox gets maybe a game of the week or something. Clearly, the focus is on the EPL.

No. If that's your league, FSC is not for you. FSC goes heavy EPL, one or two Bundesliga, and France. Plus South America.
