Saturday's RBNY game was just insane. Eddie Gaven went from being a top prospect for the National Team, while with the MetroStars, to looking like Sick Boy from Trainspotting. He looked strung out and awful. What the fuck happened to him?

Also, what were with Bruce's subs? The game is tied, so they pull off Wynne, who goes forward and attacks from the back, for Danny O'Rourke. I like O'Rourke a lot but he is not offensive at all. He's a defensive midfielder. The next sub was pulling Parke for Jolley, a defender for a defender. What the hell? Finally, in the 80', Bruce pulls Buddle, agreed that he hasn't done much but Youri was out of gas and he wasn't even moving, for John Wolyniec!

Come on. If O'Rourke is available for the game, why wasn't he starting? Why did Dema start in the d-mid position when he's an offensive player? Why is Wynne ever getting subbed out? The same for Parke?

Pastor -- I read that Parke was have cramping in his stomach and couldn't continue. As to Wynne -- not one of his better games, but I would have kept him out there. I also would have liked to see Woly for Youri, instead of Buddle.

Same thing that happened to Edson Buddle, Kyle Martino and Chad Marshall ... Greg Andrulis, Killer of American Prospects.

Pastor, what do you think of Celtic's Champions League draw? Stuck with ManU is not good.

I'm not Pastor, but I'll respond, anyway:

A: I wouldn't be so quick to pencil in Barca and Chelsea to advance -- Werder Bremen could be a real spoiler.

B: Meh. Sporting is the only team that doesn't turn my stomach, but Inter and Bayern will move on.

C: Looks deceptively easy for the RS, but Bordeaux and Galatasaray will make life difficult. It'll be interesting to see how much offense PSV can generate without Vennegoor of Hesselink.

D: Still have a soft spot for Roma, but Valencia's Villa-Morientes combo up top could be scary.

E: Two-horse race here, but it wouldn't shock me if Lyon finished ahead of Madrid.

F: Tough draw all the way around. ManYoo is still smarting from being bounced by Benfica last season. I'd like to see Kobenhavn (and YA Jamil Fearrington) advance with the Queen's Celtic.

G: Arsenal are favorites, while Hamburg and Porto will duke it out for second. Would love to see Feilhaber get some CL time for Hamburg.

H: Group of Life. Milan doesn't even deserve to be in there, but they'll advance all the same. I'd put AEK as favorites for second place over Lille.

    No love for Liverpool, Bari?

  7. what about the meltdown by Houston Dynomite coach Domminic Kinnear following a brutal non-call late in his game with chivas usa.

deRosario was butchered in the box, but the ref swallowed his whistle and at the end of the game, Kinnear raced out to midfield to give the ref a piece of his mind.

I was watching that match last night, and even though I'm a Chivas USA fan, I couldn't believe that DeRo wasn't given the penalty.
I guess the ref felt that it would have been their second penalty, and playing a man down that it wouldn't have been "fair".
But a foul is a foul. The ref just flat out missed it.

Hard for there to be a foul if there's no contact.

Steven Gerrard has killed people for less than that.

How about some love for the Red Bulls? Six second half goals against 10-man Real Salt Lake.
