  1. The U.S. Open Cup final is on Wednesday between Fire and Los Galaxians. Does anyone care?

Fire defeated the Galaxy 2-1 in a league meeting on Saturday.

  2. Champions League restarts today...

ESPN2 (a.k.a -- Manchester United's personal TV station) is showing the Red Devils and Benfica, from the Stadium of Lights in Lisboa. Being that I used to play at Sporting Lisboa, I'm getting whistled like fuck.

ESPN Classic is showing Real Madrid and Dynamo Kiev at 5 p.m. Ronaldo is back, but on the bench.

    Bump to the ippity-up.

If anyone with FSC has a chance to catch the Watford-Fulham replay, make sure you do so. Crazy ending, plus 3 YAs (including the continuing Bocanegra-as-midfielder experiment).

I caught the last 30 minutes --crazy match. McBride was fantastic. The commentator said something like "you have to appreciate Brian McBride's hard working honesty". DeMerit did not impress me at all. He goes hard for every ball, but he is a bit out of control and often out of position.

I'll have to look this match up on YouTube or something. My Gers won and that was very nice. Also, I was called and informed of the Red Bull win while on vacation across the country. That was good news as well.

This weekend I have the Scotland v. France fixture. Oh how much fun that will be. Damn shame Burke will be out.

DeMerit has been called over-aggressive before, but he's getting better at reining that in. It's only natural he's still learning the positional game, though, considering he's gone from non-league to Premiership soccer in a very short time.

I still can't fathom what Chris Coleman is thinking. Setting out two committed defensive midfielders (one of whom is a converted center back) against the last-place team in the league? How much more negative can you get? Heads need to roll if McHead and Hreidarsson don't start up top after the break.

Saturday, I'll be sitting in the bar watching Scotland take on France. Oh that will be very enjoyable.

In the meantime, I thought I would share the progress of Red Bull NY's new stadium site:
    AdvanceRealtyGroup.com
They have Power Point Slide Shows up showing the progress.

As anyone that knows anything about politics in NJ knows, showing progress is a good thing. The finished project is the most important, but progress is definitely a good sign.

Ok, if it's getting the TNT treatment, who's in the studio?

I would say Revsine or Davis, with Wynalda and Foudy.

    MLS:

Galaxy out. Chivas in. KC and NY still battling. Colorado and RSL still battling.

    For what it's worth.

I believe Kansas City heads to NY for the season finale. KC has a two-point lead, so a draw gets them in.
