I have this incredible feeling of deja vu...

(Actually, I think this is a good idea... but they'd better be careful they don't create too great an imbalance.)

I don't think they can, because of the limits they're putting on the exemptions. I certainly don't see things going the way of the NASL as far as the finances go.

And on a more serious note, talk coming from Mexico's national daily is that Jose Pekerman is close to becoming U.S. coach. Sportsticker ran a story on it last night.

Yeah, that turned out to be a red herring for the time being, Gulati said so himself when he spoke to an associate of mine. By the way, Webster, how about the game yesterday?

    It's Champions League week again!

The Celtic-ManYoo result made my day yesterday, and AEK's win over Milan was a pleasant surprise. I would've liked to see Lyon give Real(ly dull) Madrid the punking they deserve, but you can't have everything.

Today ... not going quite so well. Roma is somehow losing to Shakhtar Donetsk, Galatasaray has a strange, yellow substance running down their legs, Spartak could only draw with Big, Bad Bayern and Bremen is only up 1-0 on Chel$ki.

As an avid Celtic-hater, I hated yesterday's game.

I also see Klinsmann as the next US coach.

    It is a good read.

My Gers play tomorrow. It is unlikely that I will be watching as I will be required, by my wife, to sit at the dinner table. It is one thing to spend most of the day on the couch watching football. It is a whole different ballgame to get up and leave to go to a bar only to come back hours later drunk. (note: I will be drunk in the morning anyway.)

Ah, yes. The coveted Euro Vase. :D Being 15 points back before Thanksgiving, I suppose you have to take what you can get.

I'm no fan of Celtic (but I love to see ManYoo lose), though I do like seeing Nakamura and Gravesen do well. Big ups to Setanta for allowing me to catch each one's hat-trick in the wee hours of the night.

    TAPE DELAY RESULT BELOW:

Full time in Bremen Town, 1-0 to the hosts.

Anything less than a Barça win against Werder next time and the defending champs are out in the group stage.

Yeah 31st in the world now, although I think this is more to do with their lack of activity than anything else.

How England is still No.5 is beyond me. The recent fiasco's in Macedonia and Croatia should have pushed them out of the top 10.
