I suppose it's sort of the Herm Edward's " You PLAY to WIN THE GAME!" thing. It's what they do....although it may depend on what they find out, now that some of the drivers have been called to the INDYCAR hauler....

"Seriously injured" is way better than the alternative.

They kept racing when much-liked Greg Moore was killed at Fontana under CART sanction. They always have raced. Should they? That's another question. But they always have.

This is a horrible mess no matter what happens the rest of the day.

    Straight from the Twitter:

RT @AshleyJudd: Thanks everyone for prayers. No update on Dan yet except unconscious but vitals are good. Everyone here very scared. Pray for medical team.

I thought it was pretty much agreed that CART screwed up on the Moore situation. They didn't even announce his death until afterward.

It's worse. Rollbar was sheared off the top of the car.

Power has gone to hospital as well. That's four drivers from the 13 cars out.

Three others (I think Meira, Hamilton) in 15-car accident will continue.

Looked like the hoop was gone (under the tarp), but did the safety team take it off, or was it taken off during the crash?

Not sure they could race again if they wanted to. Saw on Twitter that there is significant damage to SAFER barrier, and holes in the track.

I don't know what they did on the track PA, but they lowered the flags to half-staff and Paul Page announced it on ABC.

You can repair the SAFER & catch fence, the track patch could be the real issue.
