    Indy lineup:
As far as newsworthy stuff, 30 male drivers are in the 33 spots so far :).

    Row 1
    Helio Castroneves (W)-Tony Kanaan-Dario Franchitti
    Row 2
    Scott Dixon-Sam Hornish Jr. (W)-Dan Wheldon (W)
    Row 3
    Ryan Briscoe-Danica Patrick-Marco Andretti
    Row 4
    Tomas Scheckter-Michael Andretti-Scott Sharp
    Row 5
    Jeff Simmons-Ed Carpenter-Darren Manning
    Row 6
Buddy Rice (W)-Kosuke Matsuura-A.J. Foyt IV
    Row 7
    Vitor Meira-Davey Hamilton-Sarah Fisher
    Row 8
    Buddy Lazier (W)-Roger Yasukawa-John Andretti
    Row 9
Al Unser Jr. (W)-Alex Barron-Jon Herb
    Row 10
    Jaques Lazier-Milka Duno (R)-Marty Roth
    Row 11
    Roberto Moreno-Richie Hearn-Phil Giebler (R)

DNQ: Jimmy Kite (bumped), P.J. Jones (never made an attempt, wasn't fast enough anyway).

Comebacks: John Andretti is in his first 500 since 1994. Roberto Moreno is to the Indy 500 what Minnie Minoso was to baseball in the last few decades of his career, making one appearance a decade (1986, 1999, 2007). Jon Herb making his first start since 2001 (he's been driving in the IPS). Richie Hearn making his first since 2005.

Phil Giebler will be an interesting guy to watch. He's driven for Team USA in A1GP and in F3, but he isn't known well in the U.S.

Unfortunately for those of us seeking good material, nutball P.J. Chesson couldn't purchase a ride. P.J. Jones had brought back his dad's paint scheme from 1967, but the Day-Glo orange car couldn't get fast enough to make an attempt. PDM's owner basically mortgaged the farm to keep this year's team going, but couldn't get Kite within 3 mph of being fast enough.

    Marty Roth survived the bubble.

    Nationalities:
USA (20): Hornish, Patrick, Mi. Andretti, Sharp, Ma. Andretti, Simmons, Carpenter, J. Andretti, Rice, Foyt, Hamilton, Fisher, B. Lazier, J. Lazier, Yasukawa, Unser Jr., Barron, Herb, Giebler, Hearn
Brazil (4): Castroneves, Kanaan, Meira, Moreno
    England (2): Wheldon, Manning
    Scotland (1): Franchitti
    New Zealand (1): Dixon
    Australia (1): Briscoe
    South Africa (1): Scheckter
    Japan (1): Matsuura
    Venezuela (1): Duno
    Canada (1): Roth

One-off (non-IRL regular) drivers (12): Briscoe, Mi. Andretti, Hamilton, B. Lazier, J. Andretti, Yasukawa, Unser Jr., Herb, J. Lazier, Moreno, Hearn, Giebler.

    OK, I came in late.

    Who caused the wreck?

AJ Foyt IV lost a tire. Then chain reaction, from what I've gathered.

I'm trying very, very hard not to say "AJ4 caused a wreck? I'm so shocked!"

But fighting temptation is really hard sometimes.

I just hopped back in here...did crimsonace really refer to Dale Jarrett as "an all-around good guy?"

    Yes.

NEWS FLASH: Scott Speed will get another DNF today at Montreal. I am shocked.

Kubica's wreck was the worst I've seen in years.

F-1 race is on Fox, in case anyone didn't know that. (I don't have Speed nowadays, so it's good to hear Varsha, Matchett and Hobbs again.) Is Indy also on Fox?

Indy was last night. Champ Car's on someplace today though.

I meant the Indy F-1 race. Next week, is it?

And who is this Hamilton guy? He's come out of nowhere. Schumacher definitely left a vacuum.

    Sato in sixth? Wow.

He's pretty much been around all year. Damn good rookie. The real deal. Though last night at work I said he looks like the love child of Barack Obama and Tayshaun Prince.
