All-purpose, running Tim Tebow sucks/is a deity thread!

I heard a lot of people saying this last year.

Even the Mets couldn't justify it last year. This year, they can say "Tebow's a Double-A All-Star!" to justify it.

Hell, from everything I've heard (mostly here), using "Mets" and "major league" in the same sentence is a stretch.

We know where Allison Stokke is these days, but I wonder what’s the latest on her? Successful and unbothered by accidental “fame,” I hope.

Even Crash Davis got a cup of coffee in The Show.

To quote Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven, "Deserve's got nothin' to do with it."
There's often not much sense when it comes to call-ups, and usually even less justice. There's lots of Zach Borensteins in the minor leagues. Guys who are good ballplayers and could probably help a major league team in some capacity, but the stars never align for them. Their hot streaks don't coincide with an injury at the right position, or a slump by another marginal big leaguer, or they're pushed down the organizational depth chart by a rising star or younger prospect the parent club wants to take a look at. Or, in this case, a circus act that might sell tickets while hitting .182 in five games in September.
It sucks. Your heart breaks for the Zach Borensteins of the world. But it's sadly part of the job.

The thing is, Tebow does a lot of good work with his foundation. It would be nice if he concentrated on that. Maybe he will after he gets a September callup so the curious can come out.

    LOL.

Even his minor league career gives him a platform and an opportunity to touch a lot of lives.

Making it to MLB would help more.

    And would benefit his foundation.

But, I’m curious why you think he’s not concentrating on the right things.

I think Tebow is genuine, but for a 31-year old non prospect to be swimming in Double-A takes a spot away from a more deserving player
A pretty selfish act for a man who generally lives an exemplary life, as far as we know.

So Bill Gates should get a roster spot because he gave $5 billion to charity last year?
