Here's the budget, in order of priority
    1. Tebow lead.
    2. Tebow first quarter bar.
    3. Tebow second quarter bar.
    4. Tebow third quarter bar.
    5. Tebow fourth quarter bar. (work with the beat guy to avoid duplicating quotes for the lead).
    6. Lindsay Vonn bar.
    7. Fan story with photo gallery on Tebowing at tailgate parties.
    8. Brady sidebar on throwing for 334 yards and 3 TDs and not being enough to win because, dummy, he's going against 11 guys, plus Tebow, plus God.
    9. Belichick sidebar on his getting thrown down the Death Star power supply tunnel by Tebow.
    10. Sidebar on Tebow calling four disabled children from Make a Wish before the game and healing all four over the phone.
    11. Notebook leading with Matt Prater 56-yard field goal to win the game in overtime.
    12. Game story.

    That about do it?

I saw Mike Reiss on ESPNBoston.com did a "Seven Things That Aren't Tebow-Related" analysis of the game.

Assumes facts not in evidence. Tebow touches all.

(Seriously, though, why would you ever do an analysis of a game and not consider one team's quarterback a primary factor?)

While it's possible to dislike Lewis and/or his work for any number of reasons, it's reductive to deny his contributions to comedy and to moviemaking.

Setting offense back 20 years is a contribution? :D

I meant to ask this earlier in the week, but for newspaper folks, if your NFL team is basically out of it, do you send your NFL/main sports columnist to Denver this week instead of to your local team's game?

    20?

More like 90. Tebow is a Roaring 20s re-enactor. An antiquarian running the Single Wing. Ten years from now, Amos Alonzo Stagg will rise from the grave to (re)invent the forward pass.

Old days yes, but in this era, the decision not to cover the home team would be made only for the benefit of not spending any travel money at all. And the cost-benefit analysis does not allow for paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars to get an article that may or may not be marginally better than whatever wire copy you can access.

SNL was pretty funny last night. Jason Sudekis as Jesus, with an ominous warning: "I can't be around next week."

I love Jason Sudeikis more and more every week. I laughed out loud at least three times in that skit.

Weirdly, the studio audience laughed very little.
