So, a day later, after reading a bunch of interweb monday morning qbs, the consensus yesterday was that Dick LeBeau is an idiot for playing the man coverage late in the game.

And the Bears were idiots for playing soft late in the game.

And the Jets were idiots for blitzing late in the game.


I have never seen such a shitty quarterback make fools out of so many respected defensive coaches. Either that, or the keyboard coaches are much smarter than the NFL people actually employed.

But yeah. Everybody seems to have an idea how to shut Tebow down except the people who have risen to the absolute top of their profession. Weird how that works.

 

When Tebow was shitting the bed for three straight weeks, I guess nobody knew how to stop him.

Oh I forgot, the losses are on the rest of the players and only Timmy gets the credit for the wins.

Let's not act like he was brilliant on Sunday. He was under 50% completion percentage.

 

You can have your 65 percent completion percentage for 200 yards. I'll take the home runs. That's just another return to old school football.

 

You'll take your fluke 31.6 YPC over numbers someone can replicate on a regular basis? I can't tell if you're being satirical or not.

 

I still can't fathom the "completion pct" crap. Sure, he completes 45% of his passes. You know why? Because when he has to throw it away and not risk a pick, HE DOES!

No, he's not the most accurate QB..WHICH IS WHY HE'S GOOD.

When he shit the bed for three weeks, we called it like it was - the quarterback was shitting the bed... the fumbles, the picks, the bad passes, the 29-yard sack.

When he plays well, I'd like to give him credit for it. He had a fucking monster playoff game against one of the top defenses in the league.

 

No, he won't have 31.6 YPC. But if it's 15 YPC -- a pretty normal number for him -- that puts a different spin on it. It's like the guy hitting 40 percent on three-pointers being equivalent to the guy hitting 60 percent in the paint.

It's also pretty funny to have my reasoning questioned by someone who hates the guy because of his religion.

 

When he shit the bed for three weeks, you and the other worshippers got VERY quiet. When he turned in a career day against the Steelers, those of us who have had reservations acknowledged that he had a hell of a game.

The Steelers did make a mistake by never adjusting defensively, but that doesn't take away from what Tebow did. They thought he couldn't even hit wide open receivers. He still missed a few, but made some damn good throws on the big plays and did enough with his legs to convince Pittsburgh to keep playing defense that way.
