All-purpose, running Tim Tebow sucks/is a deity thread!

Exactly. We're talking about 24 years.

I'm guessing the League & their TV partners did choose the scheduling with Tebow (and the Steelers) & the ratings in mind. And, they scored big.

Yes. He very clearly enunciated anti-religious bigotry.

It was the only slot the game really fit into.

I had this debate with some co-workers the other day. If Tebow was any other religion doing what he did people would hate him. If Abdul-Rauf kneeled and faced Mecca every time he hit a three-pointer how would he have been received?

His mamma called him Chris Jackson.

Would probably effect his ability to get back on defense. I assume fans would be pissed if it led to uncontested points at the other end.

Sarcasm aside, I am curious how you would feel if he did that at the end of a game? What if he, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Kareem all prayed together?

The "he must be a bigot if he doesn't agree with me" defense. Thought you were better than that. Oh well.

And the flippancy with which you responded to the Abdul-Rauf hypothetical says it all.

Who the fuck cares, Double B? Does it bother you when NFL players gather together after a game and pray at midfield?

    You're better than that.

Did you follow Hakeem's career? How many times did you read about his fasting during Ramadan?

I lived in Houston. Hakeem was very active in the Muslim community there. Houston is one of the most religious and conservative cities in the country.

Hakeem was very popular and did not suffer any discrimination that I'm aware of.
