I am watching this NFL Network "Tim Tebow: Season in Review." I don't think they've shown one defensive play besides Barber going out of bounds. No analysis or context either. Just the replays. Tebow porn.

But the clips from the Miami game are a reminder -- you think he's inaccurate now, check back on that one.

ESPNU had a Tebow documentary from like 2005 during his senior year of HS. Pretty interesting stuff.

I don't "hate" Tebow, but I might be labeled "anti-Tebow" as well.

My objections to the hero worship of him is that there are more deserving athletes and Christian athletes. Kurt Warner never got this adulation for his religious beliefs. Josh Hamilton either. Nor Reggie White.

I mean, if it was Tom Brady who was religious, I'd get it. But a guy who goes three quarters without generating any offense, then puts together 1-2 good drives? Uhm no.

Again, you're acting like the Tebow story is new. Have you not paid attention in the last five-plus years? His recent success is just the latest chapter in a unique narrative that began years ago. Tebow, for reasons athletic and otherwise, has been in the spotlight since high school. He and his story aren't going away anytime soon.

He's not getting attention now for plays he made in Gainesville or Jacksonville (he hasn't played the Jaguars yet, right?). There have been a lot of college players who won Heismans and found their college success had limited translation to the pro game.

Again, his story is not unique in any way.

I mean, if Danny Wuerffel is a good fundamentalist Christian who's done a lot of good with his ministry and has truly lived what he preaches. But if Wuerffel would have gotten on a hot streak with the Saints, I seriously doubt if he would have become this kind of pop culture icon.

OMG I hope YankeeFan and LongTimeListener are on Facebook. Their lives would be incomplete without a subscription to this page.
