All-purpose, running Tim Tebow sucks/is a deity thread!

I'm not picking and choosing. I'm saying Tebow did enough to win low-scoring defensive games. I've always been saying that.

Jesus fucking hell, who in dicks is "hoisting him up?" By saying he's the Broncos' best option in 2011? By saying he's better for the Broncos than Kyle Orton? By saying he's fun to watch? By saying that he seems to be a good guy? For someone who isn't that good, people sure feel the need to soothe their anal devastation by whining about him at every turn. If he's not that good, why even waste time talking about him?

I have no idea whether Tebow will be in a starting QB in the NFL in two years, or if he'll even be in the NFL at all. Maybe this was lightning in a bottle. It wouldn't shock me at all if he was on the bench five weeks into the 2012 season. I bet take his benching with a lot more dignity and class than a lot of his detractors demonstrated in cheering for him to fail, that's for damned true.

I don't think I'd care that much about Tebow one way or another this year until it became obvious how beautifully he was trolling people with his improbable results. Whether borne of anti-religious bigotry, anti-popular hipsterty or general purpose ultratraditionalism, a lot of people expended a lot of energy on an erratic quarterback with a penchant for unlikely finishes. And that made me LOL.

I doubt he'll have a long future as a starting quarterback, but I hope he has one more trolling run in him.

And to continue the analogy, a right-fielder that goes 0-for-4 may do enough to win a 1-0 game if his pitchers are brilliant enough and if he catches the balls that are hit to him.

Would be better if he'd get a damn hit though.

Are you talking about Rex Grossman, or somebody else?

We were here talking about a man who has become a pop culture icon who has transcended the sport and whether or not his play merits any of the attention. This particularly quarterback has been put on a pedestal so high, he's at the right hand of a certain someone.

So yeah, there has been hoisting. Lots and lots and lots of hoisting.

And if he went 1 for 5 with ninth-inning RBI singles five times in 11 games and then went 1 for 5 with a walk-off HR to open the playoffs, that would. E pretty good.

You must be new to the discussion. His dick has been sucked for so long and with such passion it's done turned purple.

And I, as your GM, would gladly hand you your post-season bonus, then I'd cut your ass to find somebody who can hit better than .200. Especially if you're a first baseman or right-fielder, somebody at a position that needs to produce offense.

I thought it was fairly obvious I was talking about this thread, filled with people to whom you were directly posting.

Brian, that would be your right if you felt like the player couldn't grow. You would sound insane trying to tell people that particular player wasn't important to the team's run to the postseason and they made it in spite of him.

If my team was winning 2-1 and 3-2, I'd keep my pitchers and go find a lineup (I must be Steinbrenner with the money to just go sign people and eat existing contracts).

Sounds like if my guys are going 0-for-4 or 1-for-5, I need better offense.

I'd rather have a 4-1 lead and have my closer out there in the 9th. Much better chance of winning than being down 1-0 and having to hope my .200 hitter pulls one out of his ass again.
