All-purpose, running Tim Tebow sucks/is a deity thread!

In the games I listed, it's not arguable. In those games, the Broncos performed statistically as well as the 2000 Ravens. Yet, unlike Baltimore's 2000 offense, Denver's 2011 offense often could not score enough to build a lead before the fourth quarter.

He's the Jordan Jefferson of the NFL. Minus the bar fight.

He lost because the 49ers scored two touchdowns in the final two minutes. I know you only watch when your team plays offense, but that happened too.

You've really become tiresome. Tebow should have taken Les Miles' calls, then you'd be his biggest fan.

I guess the 17-0 deficit was just a set up to the inevitable dramatic NFL ending for you, right? You must be one of those who thinks watching the last two minutes of an NBA game is all you need to watch too.

Man, for somebody who continuously gets personal about how much somebody watches or doesn't watch football, that speaks volumes for your appreciation of the game and all its nuances.

Never mind the first quarter, eh LTL? Brilliant.

The Broncos ranked 23rd in the league in total offense and 25th in the league in scoring.

I grant that he performed superbly in the fourth quarter and did much to lead the team to wins in close games. I also grant that they didn't have any better options. But I would dispute that he "added much" to an offense that was, statistically, still one of the worst in the league.

Maybe if he performs better in the first three quarters, the Broncos' games aren't quite so close in the fourth.

I've made that point to him repeatedly. I also opined I'd rather have a QB who was good at getting me fourth quarter leads than a QB who was good at coming from behind. Give me the lead in the fourth quarter.

Maybe the games wouldn't have been close, but they probably would have. As I've said repeatedly, NFL games tend to all be close in the fourth quarter. This is especially true when you get out of the Rodgers/Brady/Brees triumvirate. And the Broncos were definitely in the range of mediocre to decent overall. Field goal here, field goal there, that's basically what decides who makes the playoffs throughout the league.

The statistical offense ranking is not a raw and unbiased measurement. It is not baseball where OPS is an easily isolated and pretty true measure. There are too many outside influences -- and in the case of the Broncos the #1 influence is a defensive-minded coach who begins every game with the goal of winning 20-17 or thereabouts.

Tebow's running did add a lot to the offense. They were the #1 rushing team in the league, and the team that leads the league in that category doesn't typically finish high in total yards or scoring, because they're about ball control. They also made huge gains in the area of opponent field position, which, not coincidentally, is when their defense started to play lights-out -- keeping a team from going 80 yards is a hell of a lot easier than keeping it from going 50 yards.

    His legs added much.

Brian, seriously, being this anti-Tebow because of where he went to college? It isn't quite as ridiculous as hating him because he's Christian, but it is pretty stupid.

Just to be clear here, here's what's happening:

I've called Tim Tebow's season comparable to a season of a Super Bowl-winning QB who had better passing statistics than Tebow.

And for that, I'm being treated as being unreasonably critical by a particularly overzealous Tebow admirer.

THAT'S what's wrong with the the whole Tebow phenomenon.

Can you just tell us how much of a factor your LSU fanboiness is in your opinions?

A 46.4 completion percentage is normal for Tebow, therefore, it is sustainable over a long period of time. This stat isn't as much fun for you, is it LTL? LOL.

And again, you are a complete idiot who can't read if you think I hate the guy b/c he's Christian. Please try less hard.
