All-purpose, running Tim Tebow sucks/is a deity thread!

When you have to endure Alex Smith throwing yet another 2 yd out to the TE on 3rd and 8 you'll understand the "greatness" of Tebow.

I am wondering if I was too soon in handing Coach of the Year Award to Harbaugh. If the 49ers end up 11-5 or 12-4 and the Broncos finish 10-6, Fox could make an RG3-like run at it.

    Alex Smith passer rating: 91.5
    Tim Tebow passer rating: 83.9.

Interception rate is similarly very good (Smith 5 in 358 attempts, Tebow 2 in 198 attempts) but Smith is otherwise more productive.

    Smith is better than Tebow.

Brian, nobody considers passer rating for ANYTHING. No matter what side of the aisle you're on on this or any other issue, the first thing you can do in any discussion is throw passer rating out the fucking window, OK?

In any discussion of those two quarterbacks, though -- or of Tebow and any other quarterback -- you have to factor in his running.

Boy, Fox is a pretty good choice right now. Changing your entire offense, midstream, to suit your unorthodox quarterback's skill set? That's impressive in a copycat, mostly vanilla league.

New England has the No. 32 defense (by yards) -- No. 32 in passing, No. 13 in rushing.

Yeah, the Pats' rush defense actually isn't that bad, but they're playing wide receivers in the secondary these days.

Yeah, but Harbaugh did create a 9-1 team out of nothing more than the same group that finished 6-10 last year. And he made Alex Smith look NFL-worthy where two other head coaches and six other offensive coordinators had failed.

Seems like a long time ago, though.

How about the statistics that contribute to passer rating? Dude is last in completion percentage. Third-to-last among current starters in yards per attempt.

Dude is awful. But you're right, he is a good runner. They lead the NFL in rushing and he's a part of that. Fits into their defense-and-field-position approach.

It'll be interesting to see the New England game. Between the Patriots offense, which I don't think can be stopped unless it's stopping itself, Denver will have to try to match scores. And they won't do that by running. They'll have to try to exploit a bad, banged-up secondary.

The Redskins ran for over 150 yards against New England yesterday. That's kind of an anomaly for the season, but it does suggest Denver will at least TRY to do the same.

Roy Helu ran for 126 yards against the Patriots yesterday. The Redskins had a chance to tie it in the final minute inside the 10-yard line.

There's a chance Brady and the boys put it so far out of reach in the first half that Tebow can't work his magic. But that is not a defense that's likely to give Tebow his hard life lessons.

If it's close in the fourth quarter, I will very much enjoy Vince "Bowl Full Of Jelly" Wilfork chasing Tebow.
