    Two things...

    1. Is the UFC really expecting people to get a PPV that starts at 3 p.m. Eastern on a Saturday afternoon in June?

    2. Vernon White says Liddell came out of rehab to fight Jackson ... http://www.bloodyknux.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27224

Yeah Vernon White. What a credible source. The guy's a D-level fighter whose nowhere close to Liddell's camp. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

The PPV was originally supposed to be the first HBO show, but things are still getting worked out. That said, if you be the PPV at 3 p.m., it shows for free all day. So you can basically watch it whenever you want.

Last night's UFC Fight Night was incredible by the way. Fisher-Stout was a great fight.

Given Liddell's performance on Dallas TV a few months ago, is it that big of a stretch to say he was having some alcohol/drug abuse issues?

No, it's certainly not, but I need a much better authority than Vernon White.

As someone who has done strength and combat sports all my life let me tell you straight, NOBODY is better then Fedor that I have seen.

Seriously, you would have to pay me a ton of money to fight him & even then I would make sure I have GREAT medical coverage & docs on hand at the fight.

However, I would love to train with the guy.

What makes him so great is that he has no weakness, always pushes the pace, his a great chin/toughness, and can transition to each part of the fight game (grappling, striking, submissions) with such fluidity & can finish you anyway from any position.

No one wins forever, but for now Fedor is dominant. He is the MJ/Tiger Woods of MMA.

As someone who eats a lot of Cheetos, I can't wait to watch him and the other guy bloody each other's faces while locked together in the buck position.

Last week, I watched my first match since the early years of this sport. My nearly vomited and couldn't eat all of her dinner. But it's big right now. I'll give the promoters that. If I were a fan, what would I be looking forward to right now? A certain match? Something this week? Something next month? Something that hasn't yet been scheduled?

Well, there's the finale of the UFC's reality show on the 23rd. That has a good matchup of B.J. Penn and Jens Pulver (rematch from 4-5 years ago) at lightweight. That's on Spike.

The next big one is July 7 - UFC 73. Two belts on the line and Tito Ortiz fighting for the first time since losing to Liddell in December. Randy Couture is also fighting in August in case you care.

I saw something about that reality show. I just looked at my wife and got the impression I might not get to watch it. But I'll set the DVR to record it.

I have heard of Tito Ortiz. I watched some Spike thing where he was fighting some old guy for the third and final time. Ortiz pounded the dude. He's quie a big deal. So, is UFC 73 PPV? Because I don't do PPV.

    Yeah, 73 is a PPV.
As far as free tv, June 23 is the way to go. Pulver vs. Penn will be a great fight, as well as the finals of the lightweight competition. (The semifinals are on tonight 10-midnight, if you care).

Tune in on the 23rd and see what you think. It should be entertaining.

So I've caught a couple of matches on Versus of this Uriah Faber. After getting past the fact that his name always reminds me of Animal House, he's good to match.

Also, I noticed several of the refs from the UFC working those bouts. For some reason, I thought they were fulltime employees of Zuffa. But it makes sense for them to be independent contractors.

Most of the refs, minus like John McCarthy, work in a lot of different organizations I believe.

And, you're right Inky, Faber is an animal in there. Great, great wrestling and he keeps improving on his stand-up. Those lighter guys are great to watch. Always something going on - that's why I loved the Fisher/Stout fight on Tuesday.
