The baddest man in the history of hand to hand combat is likely to be in front of an american audience before too long. UFC is reportedly ironing out minor details in signing Fedor Emelianenko. Even those not a fan of MMA should hold some kind of curiosity towards what the baddest man in the history of the planet looks like.

Who would you bet on for this weekend? Kimbo Slice or Ray Mercer. I want to put money on the fight, and don't know who to put it on.

Is there betting on the fight? I know it's an exhibition, so, if there's no knockout, then the fight will be ruled a draw.
I'd save my money if I were you.

It is actually a sanctioned fight and they are going till there is a knockout.

    Let me ask this:

Can I order a Kimbo Slice at California Pizza Kitchen?

I watched one of the Ultimate Fighter 5 episodes last night, and I'm recording the entire season today. I'm looking forward to it as a spectacle. But I can't say that I find the stuff all that exciting. I mean, it's quite a display of testosterone and bloody violence, but I don't see much else there.

That was, indeed, a freak show. However, as sad as that fight was, it illustrated perfectly why I believe a good MMA fighter would beat a good boxer 90 percent of the time. The MMA fighter is going to rush the boxer, crowd him, tie him up and take him down and, unlike in boxing, the referee isn't going to be seperating them when they're tied up.

I know Ray Mercer is 87 years old, but Kimbo Slice is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to MMA fighters, yet he looked like a million bucks in there against a boxer. Sure, every once in a while a boxer is going to catch an MMA fighter on the jaw and KO him. But for the most part, if the MMA fighter concentrates on protecting his chin, he'll eventually be able to tie up the boxer, take him down and submit him.

I was there last night and it was pretty entertaining. I will recap it when I get a chance.

Tonight at UFC 73 Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira, the former Pride FC heavyweight champion, and consensus number two heavyweight in the world behind Fedor Emelianenko, makes his UFC debut against “The Texas Crazy Horse” Heath Herring.

In an interesting piece of trivia Big Nog as he is known within MMA has an identical twin brother. He’s also an MMA fighter his name is Antonio Rogerio "Minotoro" Nogueira. Rodgerio fights at 205 lbs, in fact he’s a top 5 205 lber, and is known as Lil’ Nog.

Lil Nog is currently taking sometime off from MMA to pursue boxing in the Olympics. He has won the Brazilian Championship and won the gold medal, in the 91kg+ class, at the recent South American games.

Anyway, an article about Big Nog and his UFC debut…

The interesting thing about this fight is how hard he will train given the fact that he has already beaten Herring twice.

Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira Vs Bob "The Beast" Sapp (PRIDE – Shockwave) (28th August, 2002)

One of Nogueira’s most famous fights as he, as the then Pride FC Heavyweight Champion, takes on the 350 lbs Bob “The Beast" Sapp, in front of 70,000 fans at the Toyko National Stadium.

Big Nog still has that NASA chin.

Also, I feel sorry for Heath Herring. He's a good fighter. Losing to the same guy three times must be disheartening though.

We're starting to give this some serious inches in our sports section. Maybe it will be a passing fad, but folks are following this and want results and details.
