    That was a nasty cut.

The cauliflower portion of his ear flopping around made it seem more dramatic.

The ear was not that bad. As for Kimbo's ground skills...

That was crazy. I've never watched any MMA or any extreme fighting kinds of things before this, but damn. That' dude's ear was disgusting. Don't they have something for severe cauliflower ear like that? It's obviously a liability for the guy in the ring -- you'd think he'd have something done about it.

Norman's right. EliteXC and CBS have to be doing the dance of joy that their meal ticket didn't lose. But I'm betting that they are privately disappointed that Kimbo didn't knock out Thompson in short order.

While Kimbo was in trouble, Norm was all "They won't end this early. No way."

Thirty-eight seconds into the next round, bell sounds.

What was different in those two points? Who was in trouble.

    Bullshit.

I said that from the start -- that's gonna be his downfall until he gets more serious training.

Throw Kimbo in UFC? The guy'd get his ass kicked by even mid-card heavyweights, I'd venture to say.

Because the ear was so heavy with blood it was flopping around like crazy, which made it look like it was just hanging on by the lobe or something.

I bet the ratings or good -- due mostly to the fact that there wasn't much else on -- but I'm not sure many of us will be back for the next broadcast. I won't.

That was my first exposure to this sport. And, man, that might be my last. Between the hours of commercials and the seemingly fixed outcome of the last match, why would I want to watch it again?

Kimbo's sheer strength helped him break out of a couple bad situations early in the fight, but he was totally helpless at the end of the second round when he got mounted against the cage. The funny thing is, Kimbo himself brought the fight to the ground trying to finish Cauliflower Dude with a guillotine.

I'm sure his corner told him after that to stay on his feet at all costs.

I read a story today that compared Kimbo to Brock Lesnar's UFC debut. If they fought, I think Lesnar would tie him in knots twelve ways from Tuesday.

    Yeah, I think you're right.

Lesnar's a former NCAA heavyweight wrestling champ -- all he'd have to do is take Kimbo down and, considering the fact he outweighs him by about 40 pounds, just lean on him and then finish him off.

As for the question about the cauliflower ear, I'd guess the only thing they can really do for a case as severe as Thompson's is literally just lop that part off.

I don't know why he wouldn't do it. Couldn't look any worse than that slab of meat he's got hanging there now.

If I'm not mistaken, Lesnar has been training for MMA for a couple years. How long has Kimbo been training?
